スーパーは単なる買い物の場所ではなく、身近な生活の中に学びのチャンスが溢れています。私自身、子どもと一緒に買い物に行く時は、ただ商品を選ぶだけでなく、パッケージの表示を読み解いたり、産地を比べたりすることで、子どもの興味を自然に引き出しています。 例えば、季節ごとに売り場の野菜や果物の産地を確認し、「今はどの地域の旬なのかな？」と話しながら地域や季節の学びを広げたり、商品の値段を1グラムあたりに換算してどちらがお得かを一緒に考えたりします。こうした体験は、教科書の中だけでなく実生活で役立つ算数のスキル習得につながると感じています。 さらに、原材料の表記を見てどんな味が想像できるか意見を交換したり、賞味期限を比較して食品の扱い方や生活習慣について考えたりすることで、理科的知識や生活力も育んでいます。大事なのは、子どもに一方的に教えるのではなく、「気づき」を促し、自分で考え感じる力を育てること。 私たち親も、忙しい日常の中でスーパーでの買い物時間をただ急いで過ごすのではなく、子どもとのコミュニケーションの時間として大切にしています。特別な教材がなくても、身近な環境が豊かな学びの場になることを実感できるのは、とても嬉しいことです。 春休みや週末の買い物に、ぜひ子どもと一緒に「学びの視点」を増やしてみてください。楽しみながら自然と身につく知識はきっと子どもの成長を支える大きな力になるはずです。
