If you're looking for a quick and easy way to enjoy fresh bagels and pretzels without the usual wait time for yeast to rise, this 3-ingredient recipe using Greek yogurt is a game changer. Greek yogurt adds moisture and a slight tang, making the dough tender and flavorful while also boosting protein content. From my experience baking these at home, the key to success is gently kneading the dough just until it comes together, avoiding overworking it to maintain a soft texture. Dividing the dough into equal balls helps ensure even baking, and creating a hole in the center of each ball makes shaping into classic bagel rings or pretzel forms much easier. One trick I found helpful is using parchment paper on the baking sheet to prevent sticking and to make cleanup a breeze. Baking at 375°F for 20-25 minutes results in a golden-brown exterior with a soft, chewy inside that truly mimics traditional bagels and pretzels. For tasty variations, try sprinkling bagel seasoning on top before baking—everything bagel spice blend adds a savory crunch. For pretzels, brushing them with melted butter after baking and dusting with cinnamon sugar or your favorite sweet toppings creates a delightful treat perfect for breakfast or a snack. This recipe is fantastic for when you want homemade bakery flavors without complicated ingredients or lengthy preparation. Plus, the flexibility to add your favorite toppings means you can customize each batch to suit your mood or occasion. Whether you enjoy them plain, savory, or sweet, these 3-ingredient bagels and pretzels are sure to satisfy cravings and impress friends and family with minimal effort.
