I didn’t think it would look like THIS

4/15 Edited to

... Read moreVisiting New York City often brings to mind its iconic landmarks like the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, and Central Park, but during my recent trip, I encountered some truly surprising cityscapes that I hadn’t anticipated. Wandering neighborhoods off the beaten path, I was mesmerized by the blend of modern architecture and hidden historic gems, which created unique vistas I hadn’t seen in any travel guides. One of the highlights was discovering panoramic views from lesser-known rooftop spots and local cafes that offered a fresh perspective of the city skyline at different times of the day. Watching the sunset paint the skyscrapers golden from these vantage points was an unforgettable experience, contrasting sharply with the busy street-level hustle. It reminded me that NYC isn’t just about its famous icons; it’s also about those personal moments where the city reveals unexpected beauty. Engaging with friendly locals and fellow travelers around these spots led to stories about their favorite hidden gems in NYC, including secret parks and quiet streets that offer a peaceful break from the city’s fast pace. For anyone exploring #nycviews beyond the tourist hubs, these spots are worth seeking out. My experience showed me that NYC life is vibrant and diverse, and the city’s visuals are richer and more varied than expected. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned New Yorker, taking the time to explore different neighborhoods and viewpoints can drastically change your impression of the city. If you love urban landscapes and authentic city experiences, be sure to venture beyond the usual and discover the surprising views NYC has in store.

If you’re a 90s baby like me there was just certain stuff we could NOT do. Like talking when an adult is talking. Like talking back. Like saying any word that even resembled a curse word. (What the heck) or Like even making a face that even looked like we had an attitude. When I was growing up kids

how many of you guessed the series before i revealed it? the poppy war is a grimdark military fantasy series, and it has a lot of disturbing elements. it doesn’t shy away from the realities and horrors of war, so if you find that content upsetting i would not recommend picking up these books.
