My ARC for 2027 coziest, most magical MG adventure
Haven't been so excited for bookmail in a long time! So I just got an ARC of
📚 The Imagitorium
✏️ Sarah Beth Durst.
And can we talk about how beautiful this packaging is?!
From what I gathered from the author's letter the story follows a 10 year old girl named Amelia and her imaginary friend Ruru as they try to save a magical factory full of fantastic creatures. So Willy Wonka meets Howl's Moving Castle meets Build A Bear for imaginary triends!
Now excuse me while I go read this so I can come back and tell you what I think!

Receiving an ARC (Advance Reader Copy) of a book like The Imagitorium is always a special moment, especially when the packaging itself feels like a magical experience. This book, penned by Sarah Beth Durst, truly invites readers into a whimsical realm that blurs the boundaries between imagination and reality. One of the things that stands out in The Imagitorium is its unique setting—a magical factory filled with fantastical creatures that are reminiscent of the wonder found in classic stories like Willy Wonka or Howl’s Moving Castle. The imaginative concept of a factory dedicated to imaginary friends adds a heartfelt layer that appeals deeply to middle grade readers, tapping into themes of friendship, creativity, and courage. The main characters, Amelia and her imaginary friend Ruru, offer a relatable and endearing duo that exemplifies loyalty and bravery. Their adventure to save the magical factory also encourages young readers to embrace the power of imagination and problem-solving. As a fan of middle grade fantasy, I can attest that stories like this not only entertain but also nurture empathy and creativity in children. Moreover, the integration of elements like “Build-A-Bear” style imaginary friends gives the story a modern, playful twist that many young readers will find approachable and fun. This blend of fantasy and contemporary concepts makes The Imagitorium stand out among middle grade novels and could easily become a beloved favorite. For those who love beautifully crafted bookmail—unboxing a copy with enticing packaging adds to the excitement of diving into a new world. It’s also a reminder of how physical books can still captivate readers in the digital age. If you’re a parent, teacher, or someone looking for a cozy magical adventure for the 2027 book list, The Imagitorium by Sarah Beth Durst is a must-try. It sparks the imagination and celebrates the magic of friendship and fantasy in a way that resonates well beyond the final page.
