Many plant lovers find success with popular options like Pothos, Monstera, and Begonias. To maximize your success, consider these additional insights: 1. **Disinfect Your Vessel**: It's crucial to start with a clean environment. Make sure to thoroughly wash your propagation container with soap and warm water. A disinfectant treatment can help prevent harmful bacteria from hindering growth. 2. **Choose the Right Season**: The best time to propagate is during the spring and summer months, as plants are more actively growing. Morning propagations before noon allow them sufficient time to adjust to their new environment with natural sunlight. 3. **Carefully Remove Underwater Leaves**: Utilizing cuttings with several leaves can encourage healthy growth, but ensure that no leaves are submerged. Leaves in the water can lead to bacterial growth and compromise the entire propagation process. 4. **Regularly Change Water**: For optimal growth, remember to change the water weekly. Always use room temperature water to avoid shocking the plants; distilled or rainwater is favored, while tap water should ideally sit overnight to let chlorine dissipate. 5. **Use Activated Charcoal**: Incorporate activated charcoal in your water setup. It acts as a natural filter that removes impurities and helps maintain cleaner water, boosting your plant's health and vitality. You can find activated charcoal easily at garden centers or online retailers like Amazon. By following these tips, you'll enhance your chances of growing healthy, vibrant plants successfully through water propagation.

I’ve learned a simple trick that fixes my water every time if I have to use tap. It’s probably not the best Idea physically for myself but it does work. You can stick your hand in the chlorinated water for about 15 seconds and guess what? You will absorb all of the chlorine for your plant. I look at it this way, I take a shower in my house right? Well then I can tolerate it way better than my plants. Right? Or maybe is that why so many people have cancer these days. Cities load us down with it, and whether you drink it or not you are in contact with it for showering and you absorb it all so do dogs! Dogs absorb it faster and more of it than we do! I used to be a water specialist, the things I can tell you!
