Wegovy | Ozempic | Semiglutide

I’ve done it - I jumped on this wagon with no regrets and no shame.

I’m on week three and so far, I’m down 13.2 lbs! How is this possible? By eating a calorie deficit diet and drinking almost a gallon of water a day!

I’ve traded in dinner plates for salad plates, cut drastically back on sugar containing foods and drinks and cut out soda.

As for diet, I make sure to pack in the vegetables & protein and small amounts of fruit.

I use avocado oil and olive oil to cook with along with grass fed butter.

With full disclosure, I do partake in the occasional alcoholic beverage and daily redbull drink.

This injection really does cut your appetite and most days I have to remember to eat because the want to eat is not there.

... Read moreJumping on the Ozempic wagon has truly been a game-changer for me, just like I shared. While the medication definitely curbs your appetite, I've quickly learned that what you choose to eat still makes a massive difference, not just for weight loss but for feeling good overall! It's not just about eating less; it's about eating smarter, especially when your hunger cues are different. From my personal journey, I've found that focusing on whole, nutrient-dense, and minimally processed foods is key. These foods keep me full, energized, and ensure I'm getting all the vitamins and minerals my body needs. I'm talking about packing in plenty of protein and fiber, which are my secret weapons against cravings and for feeling satisfied. Protein Power: I make sure almost every meal has a good source of lean protein. Think grilled chicken breast, turkey, or fatty fish like salmon, which also gives me those good omega-3s. Legumes like black beans, chickpeas, and lentils have become staples in my salads and soups too – they're super filling! This really helps with muscle maintenance while losing weight. Veggie Boost: My fridge is always stocked with leafy greens like spinach and kale. I roast cruciferous vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower, and snack on carrots and bell peppers. These are packed with fiber, making my meals more voluminous without adding tons of calories. I even sneak mushrooms and tomatoes into almost everything for extra flavor and nutrients. Smart Carbs & Healthy Fats: I've swapped out refined grains for whole grains like oats for breakfast, and brown rice or quinoa with my dinners. Whole wheat bread is also a much better option. For healthy fats, avocados are my go-to for salads and toasts, and I use olive oil for cooking. Nuts and seeds are fantastic for a quick, satisfying snack, but I measure them out because they can be calorie-dense. Hydration is Non-Negotiable: Just like I mentioned in my post, drinking almost a gallon of water a day is a non-negotiable. It helps with everything from digestion to keeping me feeling full between meals. I try to limit sugar-sweetened beverages and mostly stick to water, sometimes adding a squeeze of lemon or cucumber for flavor. Occasionally, I'll have coffee or tea, and a small piece of dark chocolate is my little treat. Honestly, I've noticed that these food choices align so well with what's often recommended in the Mediterranean diet – focusing on fresh produce, healthy fats, lean proteins, and whole grains. It's not a strict diet for me, more like a sustainable way of eating that supports my weight loss with Ozempic. If you're on this journey, I highly recommend exploring these food options and finding what works best for you!
