Plus, having a 7-foot tall evil siren and the story partly told from a sidekick’s point of view provides unique perspectives that enrich the narrative. As someone who enjoys adult fantasy romances that aren’t just about instant attraction but develop relationships with stakes and emotional complexity, HYMN OF ASHES hit the mark. The open door ending leaves plenty of room for imagination and possible sequels, which I appreciate as a reader eager to explore the universe more. If you’re into romantasy with enemies-to-lovers slow burns, villain girls, and tall protagonists, this novel is definitely worth the read.
