Sharing the trends I keep scrolling past, because zero gatekeeping means being honest!
First up, puffy sleeves. When the sleeve gets this dramatic it takes over the whole outfit, and I'd rather the proportions feel balanced. A subtle puff at the shoulder I can do.
jorts. The knee-length denim short is one of the hardest things to style. I've tried, I've seen others try, and I think this is one trend we need to just all agree to leave behind.
Mesh shirts always come around every season and I get the appeal, but they're tricky in real life. You can't layer them, they only work for specific types of environments, and they are not practical. A sheer detail is GREAT. A full mesh top, not for me.
Super chunky loafers lost me when the platform got so tall the shoe stopped looking like a loafer. The whole point of a loafer is that easy, polished slip-on feel.
Which of these do you actually love and I'm wrong about? Tell me!!

Puffy sleeves, for example, can be beautiful when subtle, but the dramatic ones often overwhelm an outfit and distract from the overall silhouette. I've learned the hard way that proportion is key—too much fabric on the arms can make other elements fade into the background.
Jorts, especially knee-length denim shorts, are another challenge. I gave them multiple tries styling with different tops and shoes, but they often end up looking shapeless or dated. The fit and cut sometimes just don’t flatter most body types, which explains why many fashion enthusiasts steer clear of them.
Then there’s the trend of mesh shirts that pop up seasonally. While sheer details add a fresh, edgy vibe, full mesh tops tend to be impractical for everyday wear. Layering is limited, and the look doesn’t always translate well beyond specific events or climates. It took me several seasons to realize that selective sheer accents can elevate an outfit much better than going full mesh.
Lastly, chunky loafers with exaggerated platforms seemed like a miss. The classic loafer’s charm lies in its sleek, effortless polish, but when the platform gets too tall, the shoe loses that essence. I noticed my usual office-friendly ensembles looking less sophisticated when paired with oversized loafers.
Through trial and error, I’ve come to appreciate that maintaining balance, comfort, and personal style authenticity matters more than chasing every trend. Fashion is subjective, though, and I’m always curious when others find joy in styles I might avoid. What are your thoughts on these trends, and which ones do you embrace?
