Put the ARMOR OF GOD ON ✝️🙏🏽🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

... Read moreHey everyone! I wanted to share something that has truly transformed how I approach daily challenges. We often feel like we're battling unseen forces, and as the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 10:4, 'the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.' This really hit home for me – you truly can't fight physically what's fighting you spiritually. So, what does that mean for us in practical terms? How do we prepare for these spiritual battles? I've found immense strength and guidance in understanding and actively 'putting on' the Armor of God, as described in Ephesians 6:10-18. It’s not about physically wearing something, but intentionally equipping ourselves in our minds and spirits. Here’s how I try to 'make' or apply each piece of this divine armor in my own life: 1. The Belt of Truth: This is where it all starts for me. In a world full of misinformation and doubts, holding onto God's truth – His Word – anchors everything. When I feel confused or tempted to believe lies about myself or my circumstances, I remind myself of what the Bible says. It's like fastening a belt; it holds everything else together. 2. The Breastplate of Righteousness: This piece protects my heart and emotions. For me, wearing this means striving to live righteously, not perfectly, but by seeking to follow God’s ways and trusting in Jesus' righteousness covering me. When guilt or shame tries to creep in, I remember I am made righteous through Christ, and that protects my inner peace. 3. Shoes of the Gospel of Peace: Oh, how I cherish this one! These 'shoes' give me stability and readiness to share the good news, but also to walk in peace. When anxiety or fear tries to stop me from moving forward, I remember that I have the peace of Christ within me, and it helps me keep going, even in tough situations. It helps me stand firm. 4. The Shield of Faith: This is my absolute go-to for defense. There are so many 'fiery darts' – doubts, temptations, negative thoughts – that the enemy throws our way. My shield of faith is actively believing in God's promises, even when I can't see the outcome. I picture myself holding it up, deflecting those attacks and trusting that God is in control. 5. The Helmet of Salvation: This protects my mind, which is often the primary battlefield. Knowing I am saved, chosen, and loved by God gives me such clarity and hope. When discouraging thoughts or questions about my worth try to invade, putting on this helmet means remembering my identity in Christ. It keeps my thoughts aligned with God’s truth. 6. The Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God: This is our offensive weapon! It’s not enough to just defend; we need to fight back against spiritual attacks. For me, this means knowing scripture, memorizing verses, and speaking them out loud when I'm facing a challenge. It's powerful, sharp, and can pull down those strongholds just like 2 Corinthians 10:4 describes. And don't forget, after putting on all this armor, Ephesians 6 concludes with the importance of prayer. Praying always, for ourselves and for others, is what activates and empowers every piece of this spiritual gear. It's how we keep communicating with our Commander. So, if you're feeling like you're in a spiritual battle, remember you're not alone and you're not defenseless. By intentionally 'making' and wearing each piece of God's armor, we can stand strong and overcome anything that's fighting us spiritually. It truly makes a difference in facing what's fighting you spiritually.
