I ordered this fragrance line when they came out, so this one has been sitting for a hot minute.
This was my least favorite of this line, because of the berry accord. Since I let it sit, I gave the berry time to calm down and become more realistic. Now I enjoy it, like the others, it's also a skin scent.

When I first got my hands on Lattafa Berry on Top, part of their 'GIVE ME GOURMAND' line, I was intrigued. Lattafa has a reputation for affordable yet potent fragrances, and a berry gourmand sounded right up my alley. However, my initial impression was a bit mixed. Many Middle Eastern fragrances benefit from a process called maceration – essentially, letting the perfume sit for a few weeks or months after you've sprayed it a couple of times to introduce air. This allows the notes to blend and deepen, often enhancing longevity and projection. In my experience with Berry on Top, this waiting period was crucial. Initially, the berry accord was a bit sharp, almost artificial, which was why it wasn't my favorite at first. But after letting it sit for a while, as many fragrance enthusiasts recommend for Lattafa scents, something magical happened. The sharpness softened, and the berry transformed into a much more realistic, juicy strawberry jam note, beautifully intertwined with the creamy elements. It truly became the "berry on top" experience I was hoping for. Let's talk notes: The top notes of Strawberry and Chantilly Cream are a delightful introduction, setting the stage for a sweet, comforting experience. As it settles, the heart reveals Strawberry Jam, Sugar, and White Flowers. This is where the gourmand aspect truly shines, providing that luscious, slightly syrupy sweetness without being cloying. The base of Vanilla and Musk anchors the scent, giving it a warm, inviting finish. On my skin, it dries down to a creamy, musky vanilla with a lingering hint of candied strawberry. It's definitely a 'skin scent,' meaning it stays close to you rather than projecting across a room, which makes it perfect for intimate settings or when you want something comforting just for yourself. The presentation of Lattafa Berry on Top is also worth mentioning. The dessert-shaped bottle itself is adorable and perfectly embodies the gourmand theme. With its pink base, brown drizzle, white cream, and a vibrant red strawberry on top, it looks good enough to eat! It's a playful design that adds to the overall experience. The light pink and white striped box also hints at the sweet treat inside. For those wondering when to wear this, I find it incredibly versatile. It's a cozy scent, making it ideal for cooler evenings, but the brightness of the strawberry keeps it from being too heavy for daytime wear, especially in spring or early fall. If you're a fan of realistic strawberry notes, creamy vanilla, and sugary sweetness in your perfumes, this is one to explore. It's not an overpowering beast mode fragrance, but rather a gentle, delicious aura that you (and those close to you) will enjoy throughout the day. If you're looking for an affordable gourmand Eau de Parfum that delivers on its promise of a sweet berry treat, give Lattafa Berry on Top a chance – especially after letting it mature a bit!
