Nothing But Fists
Fists over blades—guards don’t stand a chance! 😎 Live now: twitch.tv/andrethealpha #BlackFlag #GamingReels #TwitchLife
Hey everyone! You know how much I love diving back into Assassin's Creed Black Flag. It’s one of those games that just keeps on giving, and sometimes, you just gotta spice things up, right? Lately, I've been obsessed with this "NO WEAPONS" challenge – just pure, unadulterated fist fighting against every guard I encounter. It's wild, I tell you! Honestly, taking on a whole fort or a "restricted area" with just your bare hands feels incredibly empowering, and a little bit crazy. Everyone's used to Edward Kenway being a master with his dual swords and those trusty "pistols", but try taking those away, and you find a whole new level of combat. The thrill of getting into a brawl and hearing my mates on stream yell "BEAT HIS ASS!" as I land a perfect counter is just unmatched. It's a completely different kind of satisfaction compared to a stealth kill or a quick shot. So, how do you even survive a "fists only" run in Black Flag? It's all about timing and knowing your enemy. "Defense" becomes your absolute best friend. Forget about blindly attacking; you need to master the counter-attack. When a guard swings, that little triangle symbol (or Y on Xbox) is your cue to parry, leaving them open for a quick beatdown. And when those pesky riflemen or pistoliers show up, disarm them! Taking a "pistol" right out of their hand and tossing it aside is so incredibly satisfying. It really changes the dynamic of combat when you can't just rely on lethal force. You have to be strategic. I remember one intense moment in a Havana "restricted area". I was cornered by about five guards, including a brute and a couple of pistoliers, and I had already decided "NO WEAPONS" was the rule for this session. My heart was pounding! I managed to counter the first attacker, then quickly grab another and use him as a human shield against his buddies. "ONE DOWN!" I thought, as the next guy fell. The key was to prioritize the ranged attackers first, disarming them, then focus on the melee guys. It took a lot of dodging and precise counters, but eventually, I cleared the area. The feeling of accomplishment was immense. It really makes you appreciate the combat mechanics in a new way, pushing you to utilize every non-lethal move. This challenge isn't just about showing off; it actually improves your overall combat skills in Assassin's Creed Black Flag. You learn to read enemy movements better, manage groups more effectively, and use the environment to your advantage. Throwing sand, using smoke bombs (if allowed in your "no weapons" rule, some challenges differ!), or even just running and regrouping become essential tactics. While having a full arsenal of blades and "pistols" is undeniably fun, sometimes stripping it all back to just your fists makes for the most memorable and intense moments. If you haven't tried this "NO WEAPONS" approach, I highly recommend giving it a go next time you're sailing the Caribbean. You might just surprise yourself with how much fun you have! It's a fresh take on an old classic, and it's proof that sometimes, the simplest methods yield the greatest thrills.
