Mental Health Awareness… your feelings are valid!
In my personal journey towards better mental health, I’ve realized how crucial it is to validate every feeling without judgment. Whether it’s anxiety, sadness, frustration, or exhaustion, recognizing these emotions as valid signals from your mind can be deeply empowering. One technique that has helped me tremendously is journaling. Writing down my thoughts when feeling overwhelmed acts as a release and helps me understand what my mind is trying to communicate. It’s not about fixing everything immediately but giving myself permission to feel and process, one moment at a time. When anxiety strikes, taking a pause and practicing deep breathing exercises has been effective to ground myself. I remind myself that needing space or time doesn't mean I’m weak, but rather that I am honoring my needs. Talking openly with someone I trust about my feelings of sadness or frustration creates a support system that lightens the emotional load. Sometimes just sharing can ease the heaviness and validate that I am not alone. I’ve also learned to treat myself with the kindness I readily extend to others — rest is not laziness but an essential act of self-care. Feeling tired or emotionally drained is human, and recognizing that helps me recharge without guilt. Ultimately, accepting that it’s okay not to be okay all the time opened the door to healing. Every emotion I experience is a part of my human experience and a step towards growth and resilience.
