Edges
One thing I learned when doing baby hairs that changed the game for me is to not apply a lot of product.
Yup you heard that right !
After carving out the baby hairs you want to take your hot comb use this to push your baby hairs forward opposite from the hairline
After hot combing the baby hairs forward you take your razor cut the baby hairs making sure you do not cut too much (remember you can always cut more off but can’t reapply hair if it’s too short)
After cutting the hairs use your smallest flat iron (literally the one that’s small like a pencil) you curl the baby hairs upwards however the sideburns should be turned downward. Once you’ve done curling take your edge comb and comb out the hairs to your liking (BEFORE applying products)
Once the hairs are to your liking after combing you can apply a little bit of product to your baby hair (ONLY apply product to the top of your baby hairs leaving the ends untouched
Using a blow dryer on low is helpful at this point to keep the baby hairs in place after applying products
Hope this helps someone.

From my personal experience styling baby hairs, I've found that less is definitely more when it comes to product application. Overloading your edges can lead to a heavy, greasy appearance and may even cause breakage over time. Instead, focusing on technique really makes a difference. One tip I'd add is to always start with clean, dry hair before working on your edges. This ensures products adhere better and styles hold longer. Using a small, soft-bristle toothbrush or a fine edge brush can help you achieve precision when shaping your baby hairs. After carving out the edges, the hot comb step is crucial for setting them in place and smoothing the hair in the opposite direction of your natural hairline, which helps create that sleek, modern look. When trimming with a razor, it's essential to be conservative—too short and the baby hairs won't lay as intended. The smallest flat iron, similar in size to a pencil, is ideal for curling the edges upwards gently. Interestingly, curving the sideburns downwards adds a natural frame to your face. Before applying any styling product, comb out the baby hairs to your desired shape. This lets you see exactly how much product is needed, avoiding over-application. Applying product only at the roots rather than the ends keeps the style flexible and prevents stiffness. A quick blast from a low-heat blow dryer sets the style beautifully without damage. For those who wear glueless wigs, maintaining natural-looking edges can enhance your overall hairstyle seamlessly. Remember, patience is key in mastering baby hair styling—practice different techniques to find what best suits your hair texture and personal style. Lastly, join online hair communities or forums to share tips and ask questions; it's a great way to learn and improve your routine. I hope these insights help you achieve perfect edges with confidence and minimal effort!
