As an OTA student, packing for clinicals is crucial for a successful experience. Essential items include stain remover for scrubs, hand sanitizer, pain medication, mini deodorant, and skin care products like lotion to keep your skin hydrated during long hours. A well-organized binder with pocket-sized info cards can be extremely helpful, containing vital clinical information, so you can access it easily. Sticky notes can assist in keeping track of important reminders, while index cards can serve as quick references for terms or procedures you may need to recall throughout your day. Networking with fellow OTA students or professionals in the field is invaluable, as you can exchange tips on what to bring or how to navigate challenging clinical scenarios. Everyone’s experience is unique, so sharing these insights can enhance your learning. Remember to stay open to feedback and make adjustments as necessary—every clinical rotation is an opportunity to grow and learn. Let's support each other in our healthcare journeys!
