To All The Christian Girlies

Hi Ladies, I need some advice.

I've been a Christian all my life, but I fell out after I turned about 8y/o and never cared about religion since then. Im 19 now and have been consistently attending church for a little over a year and I am feeling a really big "shove" so to say, to further my faith and to start reading the Bible. I've tried twice before in the past 2 years and had no luck finishing over 3 chapters, let alone understand the content. I dont think I'm starting in the right place and have no idea which books I should be reading first. I really want to be able to comfortably read the books and not feel so incredibly lost.

I am open to any and all advice you can give me 🥰 I would highly appreciate all the help I can get!

... Read moreStarting your journey with the Bible can be daunting, especially if you feel lost or disconnected from your faith. As a Christian, it's essential to recognize that everyone's path is unique, and finding the right starting point can make all the difference. A great first step is to read the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—as they provide a foundational understanding of Jesus' life and teachings. Consider joining a community Bible study or group where you can ask questions and share insights with others who are also seeking to deepen their faith. Another helpful approach is to use devotional materials that focus on specific themes or books of the Bible. These resources often break down complex concepts into digestible lessons, making it easier for beginners to engage with scripture. Don't hesitate to reach out to your church community for recommendations or resources that can assist you in your Bible reading journey. Embrace the process of learning and allow yourself the grace to grow at your own pace. Remember, it's perfectly okay to have questions and seek advice, as your pursuit of understanding is part of the beautiful journey of faith.

You will be truly blessed, living according to God's will. Satan hates your decision to get closer to God! Just know that God will see you through any tough times. To answer your question, I recommend a study/learning Bible that will help put the text in "plain language".

Proud of you! I recommend reading the Book of John. In the beginning it’s always hard to comprehend, read it with intentions and ask Holy Spirit to guide you and help you understand. Read it entirely and then break it down section by section what is God trying to tell me here. Don’t be afraid to ask God questions.
