Zero Suit Samus 👾
Who do you main as in smash? I mained as Zero Suit Samus for January’s Photoshoot. #Metroid #zerosuitsamus #cosplay #cosplayer
Wow, cosplaying Zero Suit Samus has been such a blast, and my January photoshoot really brought her to life! I know a lot of you out there are huge fans of Metroid and Super Smash Bros, and Zero Suit Samus is truly an iconic character. Her sleek design and powerful presence make her such a fantastic choice for a cosplay project. When I decided to tackle this Zero Suit Samus cosplay, I was really drawn to her classic blue and light blue bodysuit. It's such a recognizable look! Getting the right fabric and fit for the bodysuit was a key part of the process. I wanted it to be comfortable enough to move in but still hug the body just like hers does in the games. And of course, no Zero Suit Samus is complete without her signature blonde wig! It really pulls the whole look together. I love how the images from the photoshoot captured the dynamic feel of the suit, whether I was sitting casually or striking a pose. One detail that I think often gets overlooked is the back of the suit. I made sure my costume prominently displayed the orange and red pattern on the suit's back, which is such a cool, subtle design element that hardcore fans appreciate. While some versions of Samus might feature an orange outfit or even different armor, the blue Zero Suit is definitely a fan favorite, especially her appearance in Super Smash Bros Brawl. It's amazing how many variations and details there are to her character across the Metroid series! For anyone thinking about cosplaying Zero Suit Samus, I highly recommend it! It’s a rewarding experience. Finding unique locations for photoshoots can also add so much to your portrayal. For this shoot, I found a cozy indoor setting which allowed for some really natural and less conventional poses, like lying on a patterned rug or sitting on an armchair. It really helps to think about how Samus might relax after a mission, showing a different side of the character. The biggest challenge is often getting the bodysuit to fit perfectly and making sure all the details, from the arm cannon (even if not pictured) to the emblem, are just right. What do you all think of Zero Suit Samus? Who's your favorite character to main in Smash, or which Metroid character inspires your next cosplay? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
