... Read moreAs a fellow book lover, nothing beats the thrill of stumbling upon a great read, especially when it's unexpected, like during a regular shopping trip at Walmart! My recent visit was a treasure hunt, and I wanted to share some tips for finding your next favorite book there, especially since so many of us are looking for those bestsellers and new releases.
First off, if you're like me, you're always on the lookout for popular titles. I was so excited to see Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros prominently displayed. Even though I'd already devoured it on my Kindle, seeing that iconic black and gold cover with the golden dragon, especially with the 'Bonus Chapter' edition, made me wish I had picked it up in print! Walmart often carries these incredibly popular fantasy and romance novels, so always check their main book aisle and any end-cap displays. These are usually where the freshest stock and most talked-about books land.
Another series I've been meaning to dive into is Ana Huang's King of Sin series. I spotted *King of Pride*, *King of Greed*, and King of Sloth on the shelf. It’s always a good idea to keep an eye out for popular series at Walmart, as they frequently stock multiple books from beloved authors. Sometimes, they even have special editions or bundles. Finding a gap, like for *King of Wrath*, just gives me another reason to go back and hunt again! It's part of the fun, right?
Don't just stick to the bestsellers, though. Sometimes, the most beautiful finds are those you discover purely by their cover. I was so drawn to The Thirteenth Child by Erin A. Craig; its dark, mystical cover with skulls, candles, and roses was absolutely captivating. It reminded me that sometimes, you just have to judge a book by its cover, especially if it catches your eye! Walmart's selection can be surprisingly diverse, so take your time browsing beyond the usual suspects.
And for those looking for something a bit different or a perfect gift, check out their novelty book sections. I couldn't resist picking up *Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story The Official Coloring Book*. These kinds of items are fantastic for unwinding or as thoughtful presents for fellow fans. Walmart is excellent for finding giftable books and media, from hardcovers of classics to popular movie tie-ins and, yes, even coloring books.
My top tip for finding specific books, new releases, or bestsellers at Walmart is to always check their website or app before you go. This can save you a lot of time and help you locate exactly what you're looking for, or at least confirm if it's in stock at your local store. Happy book hunting, everyone!
