After going through a career change, I’ve done a lot of thinking.

I will always love what I did and what I was capable of doing. But loving something doesn’t always mean it’s sustainable. That was the hardest truth for me to accept. It took years. But I finally did.

It wasn’t just a job. My career was my vision. It was something I thought I could build, own, and grow into forever. Letting go of a vision you believed in is a different kind of grief.

Have you ever had to release something you truly believed was “the plan” for your life?

I wasn’t a strong student growing up. I didn’t always have the support I needed, and I’ve had to be the one to acknowledge my own learning struggles. As a young adult, I took out student loans chasing a dream without fully understanding the path. I believed if I just pushed hard enough, I would make it work.

And I did push.

I did grow.

I did earn the degree.

I love being a Psychology major. That part was always for me.

But I also learned that belief alone doesn’t override alignment, planning, or reality. Passion is powerful, but strategy matters too. Sustainability matters.

How many of us were taught to just believe and grind, without being taught how to evaluate the long-term cost?

That path was expensive. Emotionally and financially. But I can’t regret it. Regret would make it wasted.

Now I see something clearly:

Your ability matters. But so does direction. So does timing. So does wisdom.

Sometimes the win isn’t becoming what you thought you would be.

Sometimes it’s becoming wise enough to pivot.

What if redirection isn’t failure… but refinement?

If my story helps even one person make a more informed, aligned decision about their future, then it was worth it.

Growth isn’t failure. It’s redirection.

And I still have my creativity. That never left me.

... Read moreNavigating a career change can feel overwhelming, but it’s also a profound opportunity to learn and grow. I’ve experienced firsthand how difficult it is to release a dream you’ve poured your heart into, especially when it felt like your entire identity was tied to that vision. What helped me most was understanding that passion alone isn’t enough; combining it with strategy and realistic planning creates a sustainable path forward. One practical lesson I learned is the importance of self-awareness during transitions. Identifying what truly aligns with your values, strengths, and lifestyle needs helps avoid unnecessary emotional and financial costs. Additionally, seeking support—whether through mentors, career coaches, or trusted friends—can provide invaluable perspective and encouragement when you feel stuck. Another insight is reframing the idea of failure. Instead of viewing career shifts as setbacks, I’ve come to see them as refinements in my journey. Each pivot is an act of courage and wisdom, revealing new possibilities rather than closed doors. Growth isn’t linear, and sometimes the most meaningful progress comes from recalibrating your direction based on what you’ve learned. For those of us who struggled academically or lacked early support, it’s important to honor our efforts and resilience. The journey may have been costly, but every step built strength and clarity. My creativity, which never left me, became a vital asset in redefining my purpose and exploring new opportunities. If you’re contemplating a change or feeling torn about letting go of a long-held plan, remember that your story is still unfolding. Embrace redirection as a powerful form of growth, and trust that with alignment, timing, and wisdom, you can build a fulfilling and sustainable future.

benefits going no contact after breakup
this is the most important one ⬇️ it helps you understand your needs that were not being met in the relationship!! when you take a step back and go no contact you can analyze what needs were and were not being met. Then you can figure out how you can meet these needs whether through family, f
