June Book Review 🥰🌸🥰

Hello friends, I’m sorry I haven’t posted in a while, I’ve been busy with school.

Never Lie By Freida McFadden

7/10⭐️

This one was delightfully unexpected, I thought the characters were well written and everyone was far from good. I’m always surprised by the prologue at the end,

My one wish is that I didn’t read her books so quickly because I often forget what I read 😂

Warning:

Strong language

The Inmate By Freida McFadden

5/10⭐️

This one was just meh, the characters were bland and uninteresting. I found this one hard to get through and predictable. I will say I enjoyed the setting and the protagonist’s child.

Warning:

Strong language

One by One by Freida McFadden

6/10⭐️

I genuinely liked this one, but it was slow paced and a lot of hiking was involved. The killer was fairly predictable, but I really loved the protagonists who were sooo lovable.

This one was a good read, but not super thrilling.

Warning:

Strong language

You Shouldn’t Have Come Here by Jeneva Rose

4/10 ⭐️

I cannot tell you how much I hated this book, I only give it a four because it was semi entertaining. The book was so obvious, the killer is blatant as the nose on your face😂

The writing style is juvenile and poorly executed. The protagonist is stupid and makes horrible decisions. The book has a sex scene that really doesn’t fit with the book and after it’s done the protagonist almost gets mauled by a mountain lion. Like Why??? Why, it doesn’t make sense!

Warnings:

Strong language

One sex scene

Cheating

... Read moreIn June, I delved into captivating reads, notably works by bestselling author Freida McFadden. Her novels often blend suspense with complex characters, making them intriguing yet occasionally predictable. 'Never Lie' offers a fresh take with well-developed personalities and shocking twists, earning a solid 7/10. Alternatively, 'The Inmate' and 'One by One' showcase her ability to engage readers, though the pacing and predictability might deter some thrill-seekers. Both books contain strong language, a common thread in McFadden's storytelling. On the other hand, Jeneva Rose's 'You Shouldn’t Have Come Here' disappointed, marked by juvenile writing and a predictable killer that left much to be desired, receiving only a 4/10. The unconvincing plot and awkward romance diminished the overall reading experience. If you appreciate intense psychological thrillers, you may prefer McFadden's works over Rose's. Delve into these reviews and learn which titles might be worth your time this summer!
