I gave up… kinda
My original plan was to build a wooden platform, but I quickly realized that I did not have the resources to do it on my own…😂🤪 (when I have an idea, I usually try to execute it immediately ha)
But to be honest, it feels a little overcomplicated for what I’m trying to achieve, which is going on short weekend adventures in it!🚗🌲
I have more to do, but this is good progress yayyy

Car camping is a popular way to enjoy outdoor adventures with flexibility and convenience, especially for short weekend trips. While ambitious projects like building a wooden platform can enhance comfort and functionality, they often require significant time, resources, and expertise, which may not suit everyone’s schedule or budget. Many car campers opt instead for simpler setups that prioritize portability and ease of use. For example, using a mattress topper and extension plate can create a comfortable sleeping space directly in the vehicle without complicated construction. Adding window covers helps ensure privacy and insulation, while string lights enhance the ambiance during nighttime camping. Storage solutions such as hammocks or portable organizers maximize limited space and keep essentials accessible. A good blanket and quality camping gear provide warmth and comfort during variable weather conditions. These elements combined offer a practical and efficient car camping experience, enabling quick packing and spontaneous adventure. The Subaru Forester is a favored vehicle among car campers due to its size, reliability, and off-road capabilities. It provides ample space to accommodate simple sleeping and storage arrangements and navigate to remote camping spots. Leveraging vehicle-specific hacks and accessories tailored for the Subaru Forester can further optimize the car camping setup. Car camping is also beneficial for those new to camping or who prefer urban escapes without complex preparation. By maintaining simplicity—avoiding elaborate builds and focusing on functional essentials—campers can enjoy the natural outdoors with less stress and hassle. Overall, foregoing complex builds in favor of easy-to-implement solutions aligns with current trends in outdoor recreation, focusing on accessibility and enjoyment. When planning car camping, considering lightweight, modular setups ensures adaptability and repeatable success on any weekend adventure.
