This is one reason why some small business dont

... Read moreRunning a small business is incredibly rewarding, but let's be honest, it's also a rollercoaster of challenges! I've been there, staring at spreadsheets late at night, wondering if I'm doing enough. Many entrepreneurs face similar hurdles, and it’s completely normal to feel overwhelmed sometimes. The search queries like "small business growth problems" and "what do small business owners struggle with" resonate deeply because these issues are universal. One of the biggest struggles I’ve personally encountered, and heard countless others talk about, is managing cash flow. It’s not just about making sales; it’s about ensuring there’s enough liquid cash to cover expenses, invest in growth, and handle unexpected dips. It often feels like a constant juggle. My advice? Get meticulous with your budgeting. Track every penny coming in and going out, create a realistic financial forecast, and build an emergency fund if possible. Don't be afraid to seek advice from financial experts or use accounting software to keep things organized. Another common difficulty is reaching and retaining customers. In today's crowded market, getting your unique message out there can feel like shouting into the void. This isn't just a marketing problem but a strategic one. I've learned that understanding your ideal customer inside out is crucial. Where do they hang out online? What are their pain points? Tailor your marketing efforts to speak directly to them. Don't just sell; build relationships. Social media, email newsletters, and local partnerships have been game-changers for me in building a loyal community. Then there's the ever-present challenge of time management and preventing burnout. As a small business owner, you wear so many hats – CEO, marketing manager, customer service rep, accountant, and sometimes even the janitor! It's easy to get caught up in the day-to-day grind and neglect strategic planning or, worse, your own well-being. I've found that delegating tasks, even if it's just outsourcing a few hours of admin work, can be a lifesaver. Prioritize your tasks, learn to say no, and schedule downtime. Remember, a refreshed entrepreneur is a more effective one. Finally, adapting to market changes and fierce competition is another issue that keeps many small business owners on their toes. The business landscape is constantly evolving, whether it's new technologies, changing consumer trends, or aggressive competitors. To avoid becoming another statistic among "issues affecting small business," it’s vital to stay curious and flexible. Regularly analyze your market, listen to customer feedback, and be willing to pivot your strategies when necessary. Innovation doesn't always mean reinventing the wheel; sometimes it's about finding smarter ways to deliver your existing value. These aren't just abstract "small business difficulties"; they are real, everyday battles. But by acknowledging them and proactively seeking solutions, we can transform these struggles into stepping stones for growth. Keep learning, keep adapting, and never lose sight of the passion that drove you to start your business in the first place!

Running a business isn’t easy, especially when a lot of the tools out there built to help entrepreneurs cost a pretty penny. I’ve personally used Calendly, Trello and Dropbox and I can say they’re great! I actually use Trello on a daily basis for work and I’ve been using it for years — love it!

Starting a small business/side hustle!
This weekend I took a big step and did what I called a sample sale where I let people try desserts i’m interested in selling to let me know what they’d think about them. I received great feedback ( even got my first order) and I think I’m ready to move forward and make a business page and website..
