my work self vs. my artist self
I keep telling friends & family that I’m building a bridge from my work self back to my artistic self. 🌉
I’m not quitting, but I gave/give a lot of effort to my job. I’ve read so many books, bought courses &
over-consumed podcasts & videos about being better at work. And it worked but the price I paid was burnout & anxiety. 🫠
So I’m saying Goodbye to “building executive presence” & Hello to building my creative future!
👋🐛🦋
My imposter syndrome era is over.
Our artist selves can never get it wrong or never get it done & that is the work I am dedicated to now. ❣️
Do you feel tension between your work self & your artist self??
The struggle between your work self and your artist self is a common experience for many, often leading to feelings of burnout and anxiety. It’s crucial to understand that while pursuing professional growth, nurturing your creative side is equally important. Engaging in artistic endeavors can bring joy and fulfillment, transforming your outlook on work. Transitioning from a solely work-focused mindset to a more balanced approach can lead to improved mental well-being. Embrace your creative pursuits by allocating time for art, whether it’s painting, writing, or any form of self-expression. Remember, creativity doesn’t have to be perfect; it simply needs to be authentic. Allow yourself to explore without judgment, and celebrate your unique perspective. Joining communities or forums dedicated to art can provide support and encouragement during this transition. Sharing experiences and challenges with others can reaffirm that you are not alone in this journey. By openly discussing the tension between work and self-expression, you create an opportunity for connection and growth. Prioritize building a life that honors both your career and your artistic aspirations and watch as your overall life satisfaction improves.
