listening to ‘What Was I Made For?’ by Billie Eilish hits different when you’re staring in the mirror, wondering who the heck this new person is. postpartum has been a journey—beautiful, messy, and brutally honest.
today, i got back from a photoshoot, and instead of celebrating my work, i found myself critiquing my face and body hard. i picked apart every little thing: my softer jawline, my curves that sit differently now, the way my smile didn’t feel the same. It’s easy to fall into this trap of feeling like I’m not enough—like I’ve somehow lost the pretty, confident version of me i used to know.
but then i remember: this body of mine? she created life. she brought my little girl into the world. and even though she looks different now, she’s stronger than ever.
yeah, some days it’s hard not to focus on the stretch marks, softer belly, or dark circles (hello, late night feedings). but when i feel like I’ve lost myself, i remind myself: I’m not lost—I’ve evolved. i wasn’t just made for the ‘before’ version of me. i was made to grow, to nurture, to love—and yes, to occasionally cry in the car to Billie Eilish while eating snacks i definitely didn’t share.
so here’s to giving myself grace, laughing at my own chaos, and realizing that beauty isn’t just a look—it’s a whole vibe. 💕 to all the mamas feeling the same, you’re not alone. let’s keep finding ourselves… one Billie song at a time.
