juked
Hey everyone! If you're anything like me, you've probably spent hours in Gorilla Tag trying to outsmart those speedy monkes chasing you. There's nothing more satisfying than pulling off a perfect juke, watching your opponent fly past, and making your grand escape! But what exactly is a juke, and how can you master it? Basically, a juke in Gorilla Tag is a quick, unexpected movement designed to throw your chaser off guard. It's all about deception and agility. When done right, it can turn a desperate situation into a triumphant escape. I've been practicing a lot, and these are some of my favorite techniques that have really upped my game. My go-to is definitely the Wall Juke or Branch Juke. This is super effective when you're running along a wall or a branch. Instead of continuing straight, you suddenly push off perpendicular to your path, often doing a quick 180-degree turn or even bouncing back in the direction you came from. Chasers expect you to keep going, so this sudden change in direction can leave them overshooting. I try to make it look like I'm committed to one direction, then BAM, I'm gone the other way! Another classic I rely on is the Spin Juke. This one is a bit more daring. If you're being chased closely on a flat surface or a wide branch, quickly spin your body around while maintaining momentum. It disorients your chaser for a split second, giving you just enough time to create some distance or even run under them if they jump over you. It takes practice to keep your speed, but it's incredibly satisfying when it works. Sometimes, it's not just about speed, but deception! I often use Fake Outs. This involves pretending to commit to a certain path or jump, then at the last second, changing your trajectory. For example, if I'm heading towards a tree, I might look like I'm going to climb it, but then at the very last moment, I'll push off to the side, leaving my chaser to attempt the climb while I'm already long gone. It's all about reading your opponent and anticipating their moves. Here are a few extra tips I've picked up: Practice, Practice, Practice: Seriously, practice makes perfect. The more you try these jukes, the smoother and more instinctive they'll become. Spend some time in custom lobbies or just running around by yourself to get the feel of the movements. Observe Your Chasers: I always try to watch my chaser's movements. Are they aggressive? Do they tend to overshoot? Tailor your juke to their style. If they're good at predicting, a subtle fake-out might be better than a wild spin. Timing is Everything: A juke is only effective if timed correctly. If you do it too early, they'll adjust. Too late, and you're caught. Aim for that sweet spot right when they're about to commit to their next move. Combine Jukes: Don't just stick to one juke. Try linking them together! A wall juke followed by a quick spin can be incredibly hard to counter. Oh, and if you're like me and use #CapCut to review your best plays, you'll see just how effective these jukes can be! Reviewing your own gameplay is a fantastic way to spot what worked and what didn't. So, next time you're in a chase, remember these tips and try to pull off some epic jukes. You'll be juking like a pro in no time!
