私自身も庭で鳩の巣作りを見守った経験がありますが、親鳥が一生懸命に枝を運び巣を整える姿には自然の生命力を強く感じました。初めはヒナたちが小さくて不安そうにしていたのに、時間と共に親から餌をもらいながらどんどん成長していく様子は、まさに親子の絆そのものです。私が観察していたキジバトは、特に親の食事の与え方やヒナの反応が日ごとに変化していくのが分かり、微笑ましかったです。また、巣立ちの瞬間はとても感動的で、ヒナが空に向かって飛び立つ姿が忘れられません。これは単なる鳥の成長記録を超え、自然の生態系や家族の強さを身近に感じられる良い機会だと思います。春から夏にかけて、庭やベランダの手すり周辺で鳩が自然に巣を作ることも多いので、もし見つけたらそっと見守ってみてください。鳩は人を恐れず、安心できる環境だと認識すれば徐々に近くで子育てを始めることもあります。ヒナが巣立つまでは気をつけて騒がず、温かく見守ることが大切です。このような小さな日常の中の自然観察は、子どもから大人まで自然の大切さや生命の尊さを感じる良い機会になります。また、植物や庭の環境を整えてあげることで、ハトたちだけでなくさまざまな生き物との共生も楽しめるのでおすすめです。
