What are the penalties for driving backwards?
Driving backarrow in Thailand is illegal and punishable by the Land Traffic Act, dividing the penalty into two main cases:
🚫 Normal penalty (no accident)
• A fine not exceeding 2,000 baht in accordance with the Land Traffic Act No. 13, 25652.
⚠️ Blame the accident.
• Up to 3 months imprisonment
• Or fine from 2,000 to 10,000 Baht
• Or both fines in accordance with the Land Traffic Act 1979 section 43 (8) and section 160 (3) 2
In addition to the legal penalty, driving backarrow is vulnerable to accidents, crashes, and greatly afflicts other road users.
