This Sri Trang tree has a story (once the Sri Trang tree had withered).
Once... before King Rama IX died, about two weeks before the death of a Sri Trang tree, which he planted with his hand, had an unknown breakdown.
From a tree that used to be green, produce beautiful purple flowers, it began to wither, yellow leaves crisp like dehydration, branches seemed to sprinkle, like perennials dying every now and then.
This anomaly cannot be passed because this is a tree with great meaning, a substitute for the royal gift of the beloved king of the Thai people.
I was told to examine the matter thoroughly. We started with the basic things - soil, water, sunlight, insect diseases, to looking back at the months of CCTV footage to find out why this tree may be sick.
But no matter how hard we try, there's no clear answer...
Some began to say that the tree "knew" something - or perhaps "knew in advance" of the coming great event...
Until October 13, 2016...
That day, the whole country was faced with great grief - His Majesty in the urn died.
Shortly after that day, the original Sri Trang tree that had withered began to recover slowly, and the branches became strong, and the leaves began to break out again, as if through the heaviest period.
This Sri Trang tree is therefore not just an ordinary tree, but a symbol, a witness, an awareness, and one of the last moments of the beloved reign of the Thai people.

ต้นศรีตรังเป็นไม้ยืนต้นที่มีความสำคัญทางประวัติศาสตร์และความรู้สึกในใจของคนไทยจำนวนมาก เพราะเป็นต้นไม้ที่พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวภูมิพลอดุลยเดชมหาราชทรงปลูกด้วยพระหัตถ์เอง ผมเองเมื่อได้มีโอกาสเข้าใกล้และศึกษาต้นศรีตรังนี้ รู้สึกได้ถึงความเป็นสัญลักษณ์ของความรักและความมุ่งมั่นที่ทรงมีต่อประชาชน หลายคนที่สนใจปลูกต้นศรีตรังในบ้าน ควรรู้ว่าต้นศรีตรังนั้นต้องการการดูแลเอาใจใส่อย่างดี เช่น ดินต้องระบายน้ำได้ดี เพื่อป้องกันการเน่าเสียจากน้ำขัง และควรเลือกที่ตั้งที่ได้รับแสงแดดครึ่งวันถึงเต็มวัน นอกจากนี้ ควรสังเกตอาการของต้นไม้ หากพบว่าใบเริ่มเหลืองหรือแห้ง ควรตรวจสอบความชื้นในดินและดูว่ามีแมลงรบกวนหรือไม่ ผมแนะนำว่าถ้าปลูกต้นศรีตรังในบ้าน ควรเตรียมกระถางหรือพื้นที่ปลูกที่กว้างพอเพื่อให้รากได้ขยาย และเสริมดินด้วยปุ๋ยหมักหรือสารอินทรีย์เพื่อเพิ่มความอุดมสมบูรณ์ ที่สำคัญควรรักษาอุณหภูมิไม่ให้ร้อนหรือหนาวเกินไป เพราะต้นศรีตรังไวต่อสภาพแวดล้อม ประสบการณ์ส่วนตัวคือการใส่ใจดูแลต้นศรีตรังเหมือนการปลูกความทรงจำและความเคารพ เป็นความรู้สึกที่เต็มไปด้วยความผูกพันเหมือนการเก็บรักษาส่วนหนึ่งของประวัติศาสตร์และความรักจากพระมหากษัตริย์ผู้ใหญ่ใจดีในดวงใจของชาวไทยทุกคน
