Bump friendly style 🤰🏻❤️

... Read moreOh, summer pregnancy! While the glow is real, the heat can make dressing your bump feel like a real challenge. I totally get it – finding outfits that are cute, comfortable, and keep you cool is essential. After trying countless combinations, I've gathered my top tips and favorite styles to make your summer maternity wardrobe a breeze. First things first: fabrics are your best friend. I always reach for lightweight, breathable materials like cotton, linen, rayon, and modal. They allow air circulation, which is a lifesaver when the temperatures rise. Avoid anything too clingy or synthetic that traps heat. My absolute go-to for summer bump style is the breezy dress. Think maxi dresses, midi dresses, or even a simple T-shirt dress. They're incredibly versatile and require minimal styling. I love how a long black dress can be dressed up or down – pair it with some comfy slip-on shoes for a casual daytime look, or add some cute sandals and statement earrings for an evening out. The key is to find flowy silhouettes that don't restrict your growing belly and give you plenty of room to move. For days when I prefer separates, comfortable bottoms are key. Maternity bike shorts have been a game-changer for me, especially to prevent chafing under dresses. I also adore lightweight linen pants or soft maternity leggings in capri length. While the OCR mentioned plaid pants, for summer, I'd swap those for something much lighter, maybe a soft cotton cargo pant for a casual vibe. When it comes to tops, oversized graphic t-shirts are a savior! Just like that cool Nirvana t-shirt, they're effortlessly stylish and give your bump plenty of room without feeling stifling. Pair them with those linen pants or maternity shorts. Simple white graphic t-shirts are also perfect for mixing and matching. Don't forget the power of a good jumpsuit or overalls. The OCR even highlighted an oversized jumpsuit and olive green overalls, which are fantastic options. They're one-and-done outfits that are both chic and incredibly comfortable. Look for ones made from lighter fabrics for summer. And let's talk footwear! Comfort is paramount. My white sneakers (just like the ones in the OCR!) were my daily companions for walks and errands. Slip-on shoes and stylish, supportive sandals are also must-haves. Avoid anything that creates pressure points or makes your feet swell more in the heat. Finally, don't underestimate accessories. Sunglasses (as seen in the OCR!) are a non-negotiable for sun protection and adding a touch of glam. A cute hat can also keep the sun off your face. And a practical crossbody bag is perfect for keeping your essentials handy without weighing you down. Even in summer, sometimes you need a light layer for air-conditioned spaces or cooler evenings. A light denim shirt (like the oversized denim shirt mentioned in the OCR) or a thin cotton cardigan can be easily thrown on without adding bulk. Embrace comfort, choose breathable fabrics, and don't be afraid to experiment with looser fits and bright colors. Summer pregnancy can be beautiful, and with the right wardrobe, you'll feel just as radiant as you look!

Something I have noticed is the complete absence of maternity wear from stores. My Target no longer carried their maternity line. My Walmart just put in a maternity section, but I felt the pieces were overpriced for Walmart. So, I have been on the hunt for non-maternity clothing finds that are bump
