Kimono Rental in Kyoto

Located near the iconic Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto, Nagomi Kimono Rental offers a fantastic opportunity to experience the elegance of traditional Japanese kimonos. We visited this charming shop and had an amazing time dressing up in beautiful kimonos and exploring the surrounding area.

✨The Experience✨

One of the best things about Nagomi Kimono Rental is that you don't need to bring anything with you - everything is included in the full rental set. You can simply show up and let the experienced kimono and hair stylists take care of you.

Nagomi Kimono Rental offers several plans to choose from, including:

👘Reasonable Plan: A budget-friendly option for those looking for a simple yet elegant kimono

👘 Nagomi Recommended Plan: A popular choice for those who want to add lace/pearls to their look.

👘 Long-length Furisode Plan: Our chosen plan, which features a beautiful kimono with slightly longer sleeves (Nishaku-sode)

👘 Special Furisode Plan: For those who want a more elaborate and stunning kimono

👘 Men's Plan: Traditional kimonos for men

👘 Kid's Plan: Adorable kimonos for kids

We opted for the Long-length Furisode Plan, which cost 7700 yen per person. The kimono was gorgeous, with beautiful fabric and designs that exceeded our expectations.

✨ Tips ✨

❄️ If you're visiting in cold weather, the shop offers warm undergarments, leggings, shawls, and scarves for free. We borrow two shawls since we traveled during March, and it was still slightly chilly outside.

📅 Reservations can be made on the same day, but it's recommended to book in advance to ensure availability. To make reservations ahead of time, visit their website and fill out the inquiry form.

💴Payment is done on site, and kimonos should be returned by 5:30 pm.

📍Address

Hisayasu Bld.3F, 12-2, Fukakusa Ichinotsubocho, Fushimi-ku Kyoto-shi, Kyoto, 612-0012

After our visit, we strolled around the breathtaking Fushimi Inari Taisha, taking plenty of photos to capture the moment. If you're looking for a unique and memorable experience in Kyoto, Nagomi Kimono Rental is definitely worth a visit.

... Read moreMy kimono experience at Nagomi near Fushimi Inari was truly unforgettable, but I've picked up a few extra tips for anyone dreaming of their own Kyoto kimono adventure! It's not just about the beautiful fabric; it's about making the most of your day and capturing those perfect memories. Photography Secrets for Your Kimono Look You know those stunning shots of kimonos walking through torii gates, like the pink floral kimono I saw in an image, or looking out at ancient temples? Getting that perfect kimono from behind shot along the Fushimi Inari red torii gates is surprisingly easy if you go early! The lighting is often softer, and there are fewer crowds. I also found that contrasting colors really pop against the red gates, so choose a kimono that stands out. Don't be afraid to ask your friends to capture those candid moments as you stroll. For kyoto kimono rental photoshoot ideas, consider spots beyond the main shrine, like quiet alleyways or even a traditional garden for a different vibe. The light in the late afternoon can be magical too, casting long shadows and creating a beautiful atmosphere for your photos. Choosing Your Perfect Kimono Style Beyond the Long-length Furisode Plan I chose, which had those elegant nishaku sode kimono sleeves, think about what kind of day you want. If you're planning a lot of walking, comfort is key. A simpler kimono with less elaborate layers might be more practical than an ornate one. Also, consider the season! In colder months, those free shawls and leggings are lifesavers, as I learned during my March visit. For summer, lighter fabrics and patterns are essential to stay cool. Nagomi, like many reputable rental places, offers great variety, so don't rush your choice! Take your time to browse and find a design that truly speaks to you. Beyond Fushimi Inari: Other Kyoto Kimono Spots While Fushimi Inari is iconic, Kyoto is full of other incredible places for a kimono experience. I've heard amazing things about walking through the historic streets of Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka, where traditional wooden houses provide a charming backdrop. Exploring the Gion district is another popular choice, where you might even spot a geisha or maiko! Each area offers a different ambiance for your photos. When planning your day, think about which scenery excites you most – ancient temples, serene bamboo groves (like in Arashiyama), or bustling traditional townhouses. Many rental shops are available across these areas, making it easy to find one convenient for your planned itinerary. Smart Booking & What to Expect Making reservations ahead, especially for popular times or specific plans, is always a good idea – even though Nagomi allows same-day bookings, you don't want to miss out on your preferred kimono or time slot! Most places, like Nagomi, take care of everything from dressing you correctly to styling your hair, which is a huge relief. You can simply show up and let them transform you. Just remember to return your kimono on time, usually by late afternoon or early evening. It's truly a seamless process designed for tourists to enjoy without stress. Wearing a kimono isn't just about dressing up; it's about immersing yourself in Japanese culture. Whether you choose a flowy nishaku sode kimono or a simple, elegant design, it’s an experience that really makes your Japan travel memorable. Don't hesitate – it's worth every yen!
