Trying all my lip liners 🤍

Hey everyone! 👋 So many of you have asked me about my lip liner routine, and honestly, it's a game-changer! After trying what feels like a million different ones, I've finally cracked the code to getting that perfect, long-lasting pout. This isn't just about drawing a line; it's about enhancing your natural beauty and making your lipstick truly shine. First things first: Why even bother with lip liner? I used to think it was just an extra step, but trust me, it's essential! It creates a barrier that prevents your lipstick or gloss from feathering or bleeding outside your lip line, especially with darker or bolder shades. Plus, it gives your lips a more defined shape, making them appear fuller and more symmetrical. It also acts as a base, helping your lip color last way longer – no more constant touch-ups! Choosing the right shade can be a bit tricky, but here's my personal rule of thumb: Match your lipstick: For a seamless look, pick a liner that's the exact same shade as your lipstick. Go slightly darker: If you want to create a fuller, more defined look, choose a liner that's one or two shades darker than your natural lip color or your lipstick. Nude is your best friend: A good 'my lips but better' nude liner can literally go with almost any lip color. It's perfect for defining without being too obvious. Now, let's talk application! This is where the magic happens. Prep your lips: Always start with smooth, hydrated lips. A quick scrub and some lip balm (blot off excess) make a huge difference. Outline carefully: Start from your Cupid's bow, drawing an 'X' to define the peaks. Then, connect the corners to the 'X'. For your bottom lip, start in the center and draw outwards to the corners. Use short, light strokes for a more natural look. Fill in: Don't just outline! Lightly fill in your entire lips with the liner. This creates a solid base for your lipstick, making it last longer and intensifying the color. Overlining (if you dare!): For a slightly fuller look, you can very subtly overline just outside your natural lip line, especially around the Cupid's bow and the center of your bottom lip. Be gentle and blend well to avoid a harsh, unnatural line. I've tried so many different types, from classic pencils to the super convenient auto lipliner styles. Both have their perks! Pencils often give you a bit more control for precise lines, while auto lipliners are fantastic for quick touch-ups on the go since you don't need a sharpener. I've found some great options, even affordable ones like L.A.COLORS®, that really deliver. A few extra tips from my own experience: Sharpen regularly: If you're using a pencil, a sharp tip is key for precision. Set with powder: After applying your liner and lipstick, a tiny bit of translucent powder lightly dabbed on top can help set everything in place. Mix and match: Don't be afraid to experiment! Sometimes I use two different liners to create an ombre effect. What are your go-to lip liner hacks? And seriously, comment any other products I should try – I'm always on the hunt for new favorites! I hope this guide helps you create your most beautiful pout yet! 💖
