Weekend Mimosas

I had grabbed this mimosa bottle when I was in Trader Joe’s in looked fun to have it already mixed and for $6,99

While I was there I also grabbed a orange for a way to jazz it up when drinking them .

My idea to jazz it up for some extra fun to serve was to make orange rose ice cubes .

I halved the orange , then sliced half moon shapes .

Then proceeded to put them in a muffin tin over lapping until I couldn’t fit any more . Poured water over them

And froze over night last night .

Put them in my glasses today and they looked so fun and poured the mimosa over and just added that little extra fun. .

... Read moreYou know how much I love those beautiful orange rose ice cubes for mimosas? They instantly elevate any brunch spread! But I've been experimenting even more with orange ice cubes, and let me tell you, they're a game-changer for so many other drinks too. If you're searching for ways to make your everyday beverages feel a little more special, or just to add a burst of natural flavor, you've got to try these! Beyond just mimosas, I've found so many fantastic uses for these citrusy little cubes. For a refreshing twist, I love dropping a few into a glass of plain sparkling water or even my daily iced tea. As they slowly melt, they infuse the drink with a subtle, fresh orange flavor without diluting it like regular ice. Imagine a pitcher of homemade lemonade with these – it looks so inviting! They also work wonders in cocktails like a gin and tonic or a vodka soda, adding both visual appeal and a delightful citrus kick. Sometimes, I even blend frozen orange slices (or orange juice ice cubes!) right into my smoothies for an extra burst of zest and a thicker consistency. Making orange ice cubes doesn't always have to be about intricate rose shapes. While those orange peel rose designs made in a muffin tin are super fun, you can keep it simple too! Try freezing just sliced half-moon oranges in regular ice cube trays, or even pure orange juice for a more concentrated flavor. You can get creative by adding a sprig of fresh mint, basil, or a few berries to the trays before freezing. This not only enhances the flavor but also makes them incredibly pretty. So, why bother making them? First, for the incredible flavor boost – they add natural sweetness and tang as they melt, far superior to plain ice. Second, for the visual appeal – they instantly transform any drink into something Instagram-worthy. Third, it's a great way to reduce food waste by using up oranges that might be getting a little soft. And finally, healthy hydration! Adding these to water makes drinking enough water throughout the day so much more enjoyable. I even got my kids excited about drinking water by adding these colorful cubes. Seriously, if you haven't tried making your own orange ice cubes, you're missing out on such an easy and fun way to elevate your everyday drinks and make every weekend mimosa or casual drink feel like a special treat. Give it a go!

What better way to kick off the official beginning of summer than mimosas?! I had a time this Saturday hanging with my girls sipping unlimited mimosas. We chose to wear the color yellow and I’m so glad we did, it fitted perfectly with the decor 🍹 #summervibesonly #mimosas #Lemon8Diary #su
