Sometimes there’s really no way to know what a space needs unless you spend some time living in it, and that was exactly the case for the entryway… So let’s give this tiny corner of the cottage a much needed update & turn it into the most inviting & whimsical entryway of my dreams!
When it comes to redesigning a small space like a cottage entryway, I've found that patience and observation are key. Initially, I had hand-painted stripes, which seemed fun at first, but over time, I realized they didn't create the cozy, welcoming atmosphere I wanted. Spending everyday moments in the space helped me understand the lighting, flow, and what truly made me feel at home. One helpful tip is to consider multifunctional decor and furniture. For example, adding a small bench with storage underneath not only offers a place to sit and put on shoes but also keeps the area neat by hiding clutter. Soft textures such as a whimsical throw pillow or a vintage rug add warmth and personality. Lighting is another essential element that often gets overlooked. I switched to warm-toned bulbs and added a petite chandelier that became a charming focal point. It’s amazing how lighting can transform the mood of a space. Finally, personal touches like hanging a unique mirror or displaying heirloom pieces create stories and invite guests into your home's narrative. This approach to the entryway turned it into a space that truly reflects my style and makes every arrival feel special.
