We opted for a primer coat on the walls first — it really helps ensure the final paint color, aiming for a warm beige rather than a cold grey, will look even and vibrant. The primer also enhances paint adhesion and provides protection to the wall material beneath. Another highlight has been sourcing secondhand furniture from local marketplaces like Facebook Marketplace. It’s been satisfying to find unique pieces that add character to our home while being budget-friendly and eco-conscious. This approach also complements the renovation theme of breathing new life into the space without excess waste. Preparing for air conditioner installation has also required coordination and planning; ensuring ducting and piping are ready ahead of time avoids delays and disruptions later on. We incorporated stainless steel piping for the toilets, enhancing durability and functionality. Finally, we treated ourselves to our first projector to add a cozy entertainment feature once the renovation is complete. It’s these small touches that make the renovation feel personal and exciting. Overall, careful preparation with protection mats, thoughtful paint prepping, smart furniture sourcing, and planning for key installations have made this week's progress smoother and less chaotic, paving the way for a beautiful and comfortable home in Nippon’s Swansdown.
