my favorite tote bags / rotation ✨
I’m a tote-aholic!!!! these are only a fraction of my totes but are the ones currently in my rotation. I use them to study and pack my laptop and books, grocery runs, and for a quick swim. Do you use totes? If so, what is your favorite tote?
1. Trader Joe’s fruit bag — this was my first ever tote bag! I got it a really long time ago and I’m not sure if the style is still in the store but to this day it’s one of my favorite designs.
2. Thai vintage bingo — I bought this from a local artist booth at the BACC (Bangkok Art and Culture Center). The design is a vintage Thai bingo board and kind of reminded me of loteria!! as a thai texan girlie, I HAD to get it.
3. HEB/Central Market tote — hahaha this was the sweetest gift from a friend who saw it and had to get it for me. One of the first times we hung out we went to get gelato and central market (iykyk) and one day he saw the artist wearing it and hunted it down to get it!!!!! one of my favs for not only the design but such a sweet token! I believe this bag is now sold on Etsy!
4. Gentle Woman — I loooove the denim and fray on this bag. I think it’s so unique and adds a nice touch to my outfits. I’m not sure where the brand Gentle Woman is based from, but everyone in Bangkok wears this brand and has a GW tote! Also my friends and I always say gentle woman so I just definitely had to get it for home lmao
5. Nang Tani — this tote’s design is based off of a Thai vintage horror film and folklore legend. I love the retro Thai art and it might be one of my favorite totes I’ve ever owned. I bought this from a tote bag vendor at the Chatuchak weekend market in Bangkok!

You know, when I first mentioned my Trader Joe’s fruit bag, I realized I didn't quite capture just how much of a staple it's become in my daily life, especially the classic green handled version! It's more than just a grocery tote; it's practically a cultural icon for anyone who loves a good deal and a reliable carry-all. There’s just something about seeing those colorful fruit and vegetable designs with the familiar green handles that instantly brings a smile to my face – it’s charming, unpretentious, and uniquely Trader Joe's. What I really adore about this particular Trader Joe's grocery tote bag with its colorful fruit and vegetable designs and those sturdy green handles is its sheer versatility. Sure, I use it for my weekly Trader Joe's run – it holds a surprising amount of produce and snacks without feeling flimsy. But it doesn't stop there. I've taken this bag on countless adventures. It’s perfect for a spontaneous picnic in the park, carrying a few blankets, snacks, and a book. The canvas material is surprisingly durable, able to withstand a little damp grass or an accidental juice spill, which is a huge plus for someone like me who's always on the go and maybe a little clumsy! Beyond groceries and picnics, I often grab my green Trader Joe's tote for gym sessions. It's roomy enough for my change of clothes, a water bottle, and even a small towel, making it a no-fuss gym companion. And for those quick swim days I mentioned? It's fantastic for tossing in a wet swimsuit and goggles – the material dries pretty quickly, and it's easy to air out afterward. I've even used it as an impromptu beach bag, comfortably carrying sunscreen, a hat, and a paperback. It just seems to handle everything without fuss, proving that practical doesn't have to mean boring. One thing I've learned about caring for it is that a quick spot clean with a damp cloth usually does the trick for minor spills. For a deeper clean, I’ve hand-washed it gently with mild soap and let it air dry completely. It keeps those vibrant fruit and vegetable illustrations looking fresh, preventing any fading or damage to the fabric. Sometimes people ask me if they can still find this exact style since mine is pretty old. While Trader Joe's often rotates its reusable bag merchandise, I've noticed they frequently bring back variations of these classic canvas or poly-blend bags, often with a similar sturdy build and those iconic green handles, though designs might vary. It's always worth checking near the checkout aisles, as they tend to pop up there. If you're specifically looking for the iconic green-handled Trader Joe's grocery tote bag, keep an eye out during seasonal releases, or even check online marketplaces – sometimes you can find them from resellers! It truly is a testament to a good, practical design when a simple grocery bag becomes a beloved, multi-purpose accessory that handles everything from daily errands to little adventures. It's truly a must-have in my rotation, and I bet it could be in yours too!
