Things I Printed Toddy to Prep for Next School Year

Getting a head start on next school year! 🍎📚

Today (and over the next few days) I'm printing all of my alphabet activities so I can sort everything by letter and have it ready to grab when school starts. 🙌

Today's printing lineup:

🍎 Alphabet Letter Poems – children search for and circle uppercase and lowercase letters within each poem.

👑 Letter Crowns – a fun alphabet art project that's perfect for literacy centers.

🎨 Letter-Themed Coloring Pages – practice beginning sounds while coloring.

✏️ Letter Tracing Pages – teach proper letter formation with clear starting points and step-by-step strokes.

I'm so excited to get everything organized from A–Z! Follow along as I prep my preschool classroom and share alphabet ideas, literacy activities, and center inspiration all summer long. ❤️

I found that printing alphabet letter poems where children identify and circle uppercase and lowercase letters not only strengthens letter recognition but also keeps kids engaged with meaningful context. Incorporating letter crowns adds a fun, hands-on element that kids love—making literacy learning interactive and creative. The letter-themed coloring pages serve dual purposes: they help children practice beginning sounds and also develop fine motor skills through coloring. These pages are excellent for literacy centers because they cater to varied learning styles, combining visual, auditory, and kinesthetic elements. Letter tracing mats have been especially useful for teaching proper letter formation. With clear starting points and guided strokes, children gain confidence in handwriting, which makes the transition to writing more fluid and less frustrating. Organizing these materials from A to Z ensures that I can easily pull the right activity for each lesson, promoting consistent and comprehensive literacy learning throughout the school year. I recommend fellow educators and parents start early with similar printing and prep. Having these alphabet activities ready to go reduces last-minute stress and allows more focus on tailoring lessons to each child's needs. Additionally, rotating these activities in literacy centers encourages continuous engagement and reinforces letter knowledge in varied, exciting ways. Overall, planning and printing alphabet materials like poems, crowns, coloring sheets, and tracing mats equips both teachers and learners with a structured yet flexible approach to early literacy success. If you’re prepping for preschool or kindergarten, investing time now will definitely pay off throughout the school year.
