My pay day checklist!! 💲
My favorite thing about fridays is payday!
But with pay day comes bills
Every pay day I make a budget and a list of what I need to pay the following pay day.
I pay half of my phone bill and the beginning of the month and the rest the end.
I live at home so I pay $300 a month for rent so I try to pay as much as I can first paycheck but not all so I have money for myself.
I also plan to give myself and my bf a reward or sweet tweet for the hard work we've put in
I try to put money into my savings even if it's small bc every penny counts
So this paycheck my budget was $475
My total bills were $480
My paycheck was $580
Anything left after bills is for myself and activities
which was $100
I was $5 over budget but I'm not too worried about it
Next check I don't have as many bills to pay so I will have more money left over.

Creating a solid payday checklist is an essential step toward financial health and peace of mind. This checklist should include prioritizing essential expenses such as rent, utilities, phone bills, and any recurring payments. Notably, splitting bills—for example, half of the phone bill at the beginning and the other half at the end of the month—can help manage cash flow more effectively. Living at home can reduce expenses, but consistently contributing rent, like the $300 monthly rent mentioned, helps maintain responsibility and builds credit. Including savings even in small amounts is critical because savings grow over time and create a safety net for unexpected expenses. Setting aside any leftover income after bills for personal use or enjoyable activities can enhance motivation and prevent feelings of deprivation. Effective budgeting also means being flexible. Slightly going over budget, as with the $5 mentioned, is normal but should be monitored regularly to prevent financial stress. Planning to give yourself and a partner a small reward after hard work is a great way to stay motivated. Additionally, awareness of overdrafts and tracking incidental expenses such as gas and treats, as noted in the checklist, are vital for a comprehensive budget. Using tools like budgeting apps can simplify tracking income and expenses. To further improve payday budgeting, consider reviewing your spending monthly to identify unnecessary expenditures and adjusting your budget accordingly. Financial literacy resources and classes can also help develop better money management skills. Overall, a payday checklist that balances bill payments, savings, and rewards fosters sustainable financial habits, helping you grow your savings while maintaining a comfortable lifestyle.

I keep trying to budget every paycheck, it should be easy seeing as though I work two jobs. But for me it’s harder for some reason.
