OOTD: Mortgage Girl Edition 👩💼🏡
I don’t know if anyone else can relate… 🤔
As a mortgage professional and a published fashion stylist, I have always struggled with tastefully letting my creative, “stylist” self, come through, in my “work” outfits. 👗
In the past, I have always kept the two separate. Stylist at night or on the weekends (feeling safe to wear my eclectic, avant-Garde looks) and the boring, professional workwear during the week, which was safe, unflattering and was just not “me” at all, making me feel like an imposter when in reality I LOVE doing mortgages and helping families. 🥹🏡
As of recently, I have been letting myself get more creative with my looks and experimenting with my mortgage content on social media and also with my outfits worn to work because I believe it’s part of who I am and therefore a part of my “brand.”
It’s important to feel like “you” at all times. You will attract the people, clients, realtors and whoever else is meant to work alongside you and with you.

In the modern workplace, personal branding is crucial, especially for professionals like mortgage specialists who want to connect with clients on a deeper level. A unique style can convey confidence and expertise, attracting potential clients and collaborators. Embrace the idea that your appearance reflects your personal values and professionalism. Consider incorporating versatile pieces that can transition from day to night, making it easier to showcase creativity during work hours. For instance, experiment with layering, mixing textures, and adding statement accessories to elevate a standard professional outfit. Look for inspiration from fashion influencers who balance career attire with personal flair, focusing on style ideas that resonate with your identity. Additionally, utilizing platforms like Lemon8 allows for sharing personal stories and outfit inspirations, creating connections within the community. Attend events, workshops, and networking sessions wearing outfits that represent your personal brand, making lasting impressions on your peers in the mortgage industry. Prioritize comfort and fit, ensuring you feel empowered in your attire, which ultimately boosts self-confidence and work performance. Remember, style doesn’t have to be static. It evolves with you, so feel free to experiment and redefine what it means to be a well-dressed professional. Regularly updating your wardrobe with trendy yet functional pieces is a great way to reflect growing confidence and creativity in your career.
