3 MONTHS POSTPARTUM

They say, with age comes maturity. Well from my personal experience, I would absolutely agree with that. It’s something about my 30’s that make me feel so confident, so sexy, so alive, so me! I feel so free! I love life so much now. I appreciate the gift of life.

Unlike before after giving birth. I am not trying to catch up or keep up. It feels so good to be doing my thang. I would always want to ‘snap back.’ Or get back to the ‘old me’ as if I would ever be her again. Why would I want to be. (You get what I’m saying?)

Anyways Chile, I’m rambling! 😆🤭

... Read moreBeing 3 months postpartum is such a unique phase, isn't it? While the initial newborn haze might be lifting a bit, I've found it's still a period of significant physical and emotional shifts. It's funny because when I was pregnant, everyone talked about the first few weeks, but not so much about what comes next. Physically, this is where things often get interesting. Many moms, myself included, start experiencing postpartum hair loss around this time. It can be quite alarming to see so much hair in the shower drain, but I've learned it's completely normal due to hormonal changes. It usually tapers off in a few months. Also, while my incision (if you had a C-section) might feel more healed, I still notice my body isn't quite 'back to normal' – and that's perfectly fine! My core still feels weaker, and my energy levels fluctuate wildly. I'm learning to listen to my body and not push myself too hard. Gentle walks and light stretching have been my go-to, rather than trying to jump back into intense workouts. Emotionally, the 3-month mark can bring its own set of challenges. The intense joy of having a baby is often mixed with feelings of exhaustion, anxiety, and sometimes even a sense of loss for your old life. I've definitely had days where I felt overwhelmed or just teary for no clear reason. It's so important to acknowledge these feelings and know that you're not alone. Postpartum mood swings are real, and if those feelings linger or become intense, reaching out to a doctor or a trusted friend is crucial. I've found connecting with other new moms incredibly helpful; just knowing someone else gets it can make all the difference. Sleep, or the lack thereof, is still a huge factor. My baby might be sleeping a bit longer, but my sleep is still broken, and that cumulative fatigue is no joke. I've learned to snatch naps whenever I can and to let go of the idea of a perfectly tidy house. My priority is nurturing myself and my baby. What's really helped me navigate this stage is focusing on self-care, even if it's just five minutes of quiet time with a cup of tea. Prioritizing nutritious meals (even if they're simple!) and staying hydrated makes a big difference in how I feel physically and mentally. And honestly, letting go of the pressure to “snap back” has been the most freeing thing. My body created and birthed a human, and that's incredible. It deserves kindness and time, not judgment. Embracing this new version of myself, with all its changes and new strengths, has been a journey of self-love. Remember, every mom's postpartum journey is unique, and yours is valid and beautiful just as it is.
