My ghosties will always be my pride and joy. 👻🤍
What started as one little idea has turned into something I’ve spent easily 500+ hours creating, refining, experimenting with, and learning from. Since last fall, I’ve made a ghost at least once a week, and the support you’ve given these little guys has allowed me to keep creating new variations, trying new techniques, and developing a style that feels uniquely mine.
And while I love seeing people inspired by my ghosts, I’ll be honest… they are NOT an easy craft. 😂 I sometimes see comments like “we should do this for our next girls’ night!” and I can’t help but wonder what they’re expecting when they sit down with their polymer clay. 😅 I’ve even had people message me afterward saying they were much harder than they expected and that I make them look so easy!
There’s definitely a lot of patience and practice behind these little faces. I’d recommend having some experience with polymer clay before attempting them—unless you’re just doing it for fun and don’t mind if your first few aren’t perfect. That’s part of learning!
And then there’s the other side of being a creator: seeing people intentionally copy your specific style. I genuinely believe everyone has the right to create whatever they want, and I’ll never be upset by someone being inspired by an idea. But when someone is deliberately trying to recreate your specific designs and style to sell, yeah… it stings a little.
At the end of the day, though, that’s out of my hands. And it doesn’t take away from the confidence I have in what I create, the years of practice behind it, or all of the little details that make my ghosts mine. 🥹
I’m just incredibly grateful that you all have loved these little ghosts enough to give me the opportunity to keep making them. Every order, comment, share, and bit of encouragement has played a part in getting them—and me—where we are today. 🤍👻

Creating polymer clay figures like these ghosts is truly a rewarding yet challenging craft. From my experience, working with polymer clay demands patience and a willingness to embrace trial and error. Each ghost is a small sculpture that requires careful shaping, blending, and detailing, which can take hours to perfect. One thing I learned early on is the importance of mastering the basics—conditioning the clay, using proper tools, and baking at the right temperature and time to avoid cracks or burns. For those new to polymer clay, I recommend starting with simple shapes and colors before diving into intricate designs like these ghosties. Watching tutorial videos and joining online communities can provide valuable tips and encouragement. It’s easy to get discouraged if your first attempts don’t look like the ones you admire, but remember, every artist has gone through that learning curve. An exciting part of creating my ghost collection has been experimenting with different techniques, such as adding textures or using mixed media like paints and varnishes to add personality. Each ghost carries a unique expression and charm that reflects hours of practice and attention to detail. Also, protecting your creative style is something many creators grapple with. Seeing others inspired by your work is flattering, but it’s important to acknowledge the effort behind it. I try to focus on continuing to evolve my own creations rather than dwell on imitation. Overall, making these polymer clay ghosts is more than just crafting; it’s a creative journey filled with learning, growth, and fun. For anyone ready to explore polymer clay art, dive in with an open heart, and enjoy the process as much as the results. #PolymerClay #ClayArtist #HandmadeWithLove #Ghosties #CraftingJourney
