Regulating your nervous system 💕
I’m realizing nervous system healing isn’t always about adding more.
Sometimes it’s slowing down.
Sometimes it’s removing stress.
Sometimes it’s teaching your body that it’s finally safe.
💕
These small things have been helping me feel calmer, less overstimulated, and more regulated while raising a toddler.
Not perfectly. Just consistently.

Save this for later if you’re working on your nervous system too 💕
From my own experience, I’ve found that regulating the nervous system isn’t about pushing harder or adding more activities, but rather about embracing predictability and gentle rhythms. For instance, establishing a morning routine that includes exposure to natural sunlight, drinking water, and eating protein helps signal to my brain that it’s a safe start to the day. This predictability lowers stress and calms my nervous system. I also learned the healing power of simple movements and rhythms—walking outside, gentle rocking, humming a tune, or slowly tapping my fingers can make a big difference. These repetitive actions bring a soothing rhythm that the nervous system craves and helps reduce overstimulation. Removing stressors has been equally essential. This means cutting down on loud noises, limiting caffeine, and consciously avoiding drama in day-to-day life. By creating a calmer environment, the nervous system doesn’t have to be constantly on alert. Raising a toddler adds layers of sensory input, so I’ve embraced consistent, small steps rather than expecting perfection. It’s about tuning into what my body needs and telling myself it’s okay to slow down, rest, and reset. If you’re on a similar journey, try incorporating these easy, sustainable habits into your daily life. Over time, they help rebuild a sense of safety and calm within your nervous system—allowing you to face your busy days with greater resilience and peace.
