🌸 Day 13 – Who Are You Outside Your Roles
You might be a:
Mother
Wife
Business owner
Friend
Leader
But who are YOU outside of your responsibilities?
Describe yourself in three words.
Let’s remind ourselves that we are more than our roles.
Taking a moment to step outside of our daily responsibilities and roles can be a powerful exercise in self-discovery and growth. In my experience, identifying who I am beyond being a mother, a professional, or a friend has helped me build stronger self-awareness and resilience. When you challenge yourself to describe who you are in just three words, it often reveals your core values and passions that might get overshadowed by routine duties. For instance, while being a business owner shapes many of my daily decisions, the words I choose to describe myself could be 'curious,' 'empathetic,' and 'adaptable.' These words guide how I approach both challenges and relationships. This reflection reminds us that our identity is rich, complex, and ever-evolving beyond the roles we play. If you haven't tried this yet, set aside some quiet time to write down your roles and then separate from them by simply listing qualities or traits that represent your inner self. This small exercise can uncover a profound understanding of what truly drives and fulfills you. It encourages self-kindness and helps balance external expectations with internal truth. Embracing your whole self enables you to live more authentically and connect deeply with others.
