Best Gen 1 Shiny Pokemon!

As a long-time Pokémon trainer, there's nothing quite like the thrill of encountering a shiny. And when it comes to Generation 1 Pokémon, some of these palette swaps are just absolutely breathtaking! While the original games didn't have the shiny mechanic we know today, the Kanto Pokémon have received some incredible shiny forms in later titles that have become truly iconic. Let me tell you why some of these Gen 1 shinies are my absolute favorites and definite must-haves for any collector. First off, who can resist the elegance of shiny Ninetales? Its beautiful, shimmering silver coat truly makes it look regal and otherworldly, standing out dramatically from its normal golden-brown hue. Next up, if you ask me, the best fire starter in the entire series has an equally impressive shiny: Charizard. Its black and red color scheme in its shiny form makes him look incredibly fierce and ready to torch anything in its path. It’s got such an intense, powerful presence that many trainers, myself included, spend countless hours trying to find. There's just something about that black Charizard that screams 'ultimate Pokémon'! And finally, my top pick is reserved for the greatest legendary introduced in the series, Mewtwo. Its unique green shiny form is super unique and highly desirable. This legendary Pokémon already commands respect, but in its rare green coloration, it becomes an even more incredible prize for any trainer lucky enough to encounter one. Beyond these top contenders, I have to give an honorable mention to Dragonite. While its standard green is lovely, its shiny form shifts to a beautiful, almost olive green with purple wings. It’s a subtle change, but it makes this already beloved pseudo-legendary feel even more special and rare. Other Gen 1 shinies like the vibrant purple Vaporeon or the cool blue Lapras also hold a special place in my heart.
