S.H.Figuarts Deadpool review
As a passionate collector, getting my hands on a new S.H.Figuarts figure is always an event, and the Deadpool SH Figuarts release was no exception! There's so much hype around this character and the quality that Bandai Tamashii Nations usually delivers. I wanted to give you my personal, unfiltered review of this highly anticipated Marvel Studios action figure, covering everything from sculpt to accessories, and ultimately, whether it deserves a spot in your collection. First off, let's talk about the initial impression. The packaging is typical S.H.Figuarts: sleek, collector-friendly, and showcases the figure well. Unboxing it, you immediately get a sense of the quality. The sculpt on Deadpool is fantastic – they've really captured his iconic look. The textured suit details are subtle but effective, and the paint application is generally crisp, with clean lines and vibrant reds and blacks. It truly feels like a premium representation of the Merc with a Mouth. Now, for articulation, which is often a highlight for S.H.Figuarts. This Deadpool doesn't disappoint! He's incredibly posable, allowing for all those dynamic, chaotic stances Deadpool is known for. The double-jointed knees and elbows provide a great range of motion, and the butterfly joints in the shoulders allow for impressive arm poses, perfect for wielding his katanas or shooting his pistols. The ab crunch and waist swivel add further flexibility, making those signature comedic or action-packed poses a breeze to achieve. However, every figure has its quirks, and for my copy, I was a bit bummed to find it didn't come with holsters! This was a small but noticeable omission that affects how I can display him with his pistols. It's something to keep an eye out for if you're purchasing one. Despite that, the figure comes packed with an impressive array of accessories: multiple interchangeable hands for various gestures (including his iconic 'shaka' sign), several alternate head sculpts to capture his different expressions (from mischievous to serious), two katanas with sheaths, and two pistols. Comparing it to other Deadpool action figures, especially the Marvel Legends Deadpool review I've seen, the S.H.Figuarts version generally offers superior articulation and a more refined sculpt, though Marvel Legends often has a broader character selection at a more accessible price point. If you're a fan of high-end imports and detailed action figures, the S.H.Figuarts Deadpool is definitely a contender. It’s a joy to pose and display, offering a premium feel that often justifies the investment for serious collectors. While the missing holsters were a minor setback for me, the overall quality, articulation, and wealth of accessories make this a strong recommendation. So, is this Deadpool action figure a must-have?
