Today I start day 1 of my Mom 75 Challenge

I decided I’m going to do the Mom 75 challenge because this time around been a lot harder on me. I have had a lot more of the mental blues after this baby and I have not gotten into a real routine. I know this is gonna be hard and I made it simple things that I need to do that I don’t do, but here’s more in depth about each one that I’m doing

💦Drink water- I need to drink at least one bottle of water before I eat or drink anything else because I am breast-feeding and I need this to start my day and to make more milk.

📒Bullet Journal- I just made my bullet journal of different things that I want to look back on at the end of the year like how my mood was every day that I had an anxiety attack. What was the best part of my day. And then also keeping track of my 75 day challenge, so I need to pull a journal every day.

🎀Get Ready-I need to either do my make up OR my hair at least five days a week. Even if it’s just a simple hairstyle and a simple make up like getting ready and not just bumming out all the time.

🍳🥞Eat Breakfast- I need to actually eat breakfast. Even if it’s my lactation muffins, anything is better than nothing and since I’m breast-feeding, I need to eat more calories.

👗Get Dressed- I need to get dressed at least five times a week. Not just going out in sweats or the same outfit over and over and over. I need to do different outfits.

💪Exercise- I need to do 15 minutes of exercising every day or at least six times a week. Whether it be walking or a little bit of yoga in the morning or maybe work out just 15 minutes of it.

🚿🧼 Shower- I need to take a shower. I know you must think it’s weird and gross that I don’t already do it but motherhood and postpartum makes it very hard sometimes even though I’m two months and it’s still crazy hard.

🧴Skincare-do my skin care in the morning and in the afternoon because this postpartum acne is kicking my butt

📚Read My Bible-I want to read 15 minutes of my Bible every day whether be in the morning or before I go to bed or during the afternoon anytime I have a little bit downtime. I would like to read my Bible and I need to get in the habit of doing it every day.

That’s my mom’s 75. I know everybody is different, but this is mine.

... Read moreThe "75 Mom Challenge" has become a popular way for mothers to focus on self-improvement and well-being, especially during the often-overwhelming postpartum period. While my personal list of challenges outlined in the original post works for me, I wanted to share a deeper dive into why these types of habits are so crucial and how you can tailor them to your own journey. Many of us, myself included, find ourselves struggling with mental blues and a lack of routine after having a baby, and this challenge offers a structured path back to ourselves. One of the most foundational elements I've embraced is consistent hydration. Beyond just supporting breastfeeding, making sure I drink water first thing in the morning sets a positive tone for the day. It boosts energy, aids in recovery, and just makes me feel better overall. I've found that keeping a large water bottle handy is key, especially when I’m constantly on the go with a little one. Next, the bullet journal has been a game-changer for my mental health. It’s not just about tracking tasks; it’s a space to monitor my mood, note down moments of anxiety, celebrate small wins, and even plan my simple outfits for the week. This mindful reflection helps me understand my patterns and appreciate the good moments, however fleeting. It’s a quiet moment each day just for me. Getting ready, even minimally, has a huge psychological impact. Whether it's doing my hair or a quick makeup routine, or simply putting on a fresh outfit (not just sweats!), it signals to my brain that the day has officially begun and I’m ready to face it. It's about reclaiming a sense of identity beyond just being "mom." Similarly, making time to shower isn't just about hygiene; it's a reset button, a warm, steamy escape that refreshes both body and mind. And don't forget skin care – tackling postpartum acne has been a small but mighty victory for my confidence. Fueling my body properly, starting with eating breakfast, has been vital. It's easy to skip meals when you're busy caring for a baby, but I've learned that consistent, nourishing meals keep my energy levels stable and my mood brighter. Lactation muffins are great, but anything substantial helps. Finally, incorporating physical and spiritual well-being has brought immense peace. Even just 15 minutes of exercise, whether a walk or gentle yoga, helps clear my head and release tension. And taking time to read my Bible grounds me, offering a moment of quiet reflection and spiritual nourishment that helps me navigate the daily chaos with more patience and grace. These aren't just tasks; they're acts of self-love that add up to a more resilient, happier me. Remember, the "75 Mom Challenge" is about progress, not perfection. Be kind to yourself, adjust as needed, and celebrate every small step forward!
