Intro: “The forest had become a labyrinth of snow and ice. I’d been monitoring the parameters of the thicket for an hour, and my vantage point in the crook of a tree branch had turned useless. The gusting wind blew thick flurries to sweep away my tracks, but buried along with them any signs of potential quarry.”
My rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My review: This is the first book of the series by Sarah J. Maas, and I cannot believe how obsessed I am. I never knew I could finish a book within two days, especially with how lengthy this one is. The way the characters are introduced and how the plot begins to thicken and thicken is nothing but crazy. I loved how fast paced and how there was always something happening. Personally, I don’t like a slow pace read because I get bored. As of the romance, the love and drama between Feyer and Tamlin makes my heart skip beats. As there love starts to evolve I never imagined what or how someone could get in the way so extravagantly. As that happens the book ends with a cliff hanger and I burned with the need to continue to the next book.

... Read moreIf you're on the fence about diving into the world of 'A Court of Thorns and Roses,' let me tell you, it's a decision you won't regret. Like many, I picked up this book after seeing it everywhere, and it quickly became clear why Sarah J. Maas is a #1 New York Times Bestselling Author. From the moment I saw that striking red book cover with its neon yellow title and dark red mythical creatures, I knew I was in for a treat – and it absolutely delivered.
This isn't just another fantasy novel; it's an immersive experience that transports you completely. Maas masterfully builds a world brimming with ancient magic, danger, and intricate politics within the fae realm. I was particularly captivated by how she weaves together the elements of high fantasy with the raw, emotional depth of young adult literature. The descriptions are so vivid, I felt like I was right there in the snow-laden forests or within Tamlin's opulent court. This rich world-building is definitely one of the key reasons why ACOTAR Book 1 has garnered such a massive and dedicated fanbase.
Beyond the breathtaking setting, the characters are what truly anchor this story and make it so compelling. Feyre, our protagonist, is incredibly resilient and fierce, growing immensely throughout the narrative. You can't help but root for her as she navigates an unfamiliar, often terrifying, world. And then there's Tamlin – their dynamic is absolutely electric. The slow burn and eventual eruption of their romance is incredibly well-written, fraught with tension and undeniable passion. I found myself completely invested in their journey, experiencing every triumph and heartbreak alongside them. It's a love story that feels earned, not rushed, and sets a high bar for fantasy romance.
What really makes 'A Court of Thorns and Roses' shine, especially for someone who, like me, gets bored with slow-paced reads, is its relentless momentum. There's always something happening – a new twist, a fresh challenge, or a shocking revelation that keeps you turning pages late into the night. I honestly couldn't put it down; I finished the entire book in just two days! The magic, the intrigue, the political machinations, and the ever-present danger all weave together into an utterly addictive narrative. It's no wonder this first installment is so popular; it delivers on every front, making it a must-read for anyone seeking an escape into a truly captivating tale.
The cliffhanger at the end left me absolutely reeling and craving more, a testament to Maas's incredible ability to craft a truly compelling and emotionally resonant story. If you're looking for an escape into a richly imagined world with unforgettable characters and a romance that will make your heart race, then picking up 'A Court of Thorns and Roses' Book 1 is an absolute must. It’s an exceptional introduction to a series that promises even more adventure, deep emotional arcs, and fantastical elements.
