STUDY MOTIVATION ADHD VRZN
Hello! It’s Ariel here.
Yep, I’ve got #adhdinwomen and I’m late diagnosed & im an #adultcollegestudent #studymotivation #lemon8challenge
These tips and tools help me out & no, nothing is perfect and everything can adapt to how I learn with what I learn.
1) grades on each course - helps me keep up with extensions through my accessibility
2) notebooks and lists - we all know as adhd pops that we have tons of these. I even use post it notes. The key is to have a LIST. DAILY. Yes daily! To date everything even if it’s just a brain dump because hey we don’t remember shit. & dates
3) instrumental music - let’s face it the lyrics and me thinking I’m in singing to an actual audience do not help when I’m studying. I found A Lofi-Soul on YouTube and I absolutely love it. Try it out!
4) timers & Pomodoro method - these are a game changer in my life itself. Not only do they get me focused and keep me on task (especially when I zone out) I kick into gear and I’m breezing through the breaks!
Hope this helps! Drop your tips! I’m always looking for help
For adult college students navigating ADHD, finding effective study strategies is crucial. Here are some tailored techniques to enhance focus and productivity: 1. **Utilizing Technology**: Use digital calendars and reminder apps to keep track of assignments and deadlines. Setting alerts can prevent last-minute panic and keep you organized. 2. **Creating a Study Environment**: Designate a specific study space that minimizes distractions. This can be a quiet room, a library, or even a coffee shop, depending on what environment you find most effective. 3. **Incorporating Breaks**: Studies show that taking regular breaks can boost long-term retention of information. Try the Pomodoro Technique—study for 25 minutes, then take a 5-minute break to refresh your mind. 4. **Engaging Different Learning Styles**: Experiment with various study materials like podcasts or videos that complement your reading. Different formats can reinforce your learning and keep it interesting. 5. **Mindfulness and Stress Management**: Practicing mindfulness techniques or meditation can improve focus, reduce anxiety, and allow for deeper engagement with study materials. Consider integrating short mindfulness sessions into your daily routine. By utilizing these techniques, adult students with ADHD can enhance their study habits and foster a more productive learning experience. Sharing tips with peers can also yield new strategies and community support.
