One of my favorite hairstyles for greasy hair ✨🤍

Great for when it’s hair wash day and you don’t have it in you! 🥱✨

Make sure you have 4 hair ties, and any styling cream ‼️

1. Section off face framing pieces/baby hairs.

2. Part section behind face framing pieces on top of head in the front.

3. Braid that section.

4. Repeat on other side.

5. Split part down the middle and tie one side out of the way.

6. Create a low bun with one side/section of hair. ( if you have layers or short hair have patience it took me a lot of times to get the perfect lil messy bun )

7. Repeat on other side.

8. Smooth out any frizz with styling cream

All Done! ✔️🫶🏻

... Read moreWe all have those mornings: hair's looking a bit sad, wash day feels miles away, and you just need a quick, cute fix for your greasy hair. That's exactly why this braided hairstyle with two low buns became my absolute lifesaver! It's not just about hiding the oil; it's about looking effortlessly chic even when your hair isn't cooperating. Why does this style work so well for greasy hair, you ask? First, braids inherently add texture and can disguise oil at the roots, making your hair look intentionally styled rather than just dirty. The act of braiding and then twisting into low buns also lifts the hair slightly, reducing direct contact with your scalp and distributing any natural oils. Plus, it keeps your hair off your face and neck, preventing it from getting even greasier throughout the day. It's truly one of the best easy greasy solutions out there. Here are a few extra tips to perfect your messy bun for greasy hair and make this tutorial even more successful: Pre-Style Prep with Dry Shampoo: Before you even start braiding, a quick spritz of dry shampoo at your roots can work wonders. It absorbs excess oil, adds volume, and gives your hair a bit more grip, making it easier to braid and hold those low buns in place. This is especially helpful if you're dealing with really oily hair. Adapting for Shorter Hair or Layers: If you have greasy short hair styles or lots of layers, don't despair if your two low buns don't look perfectly symmetrical at first. The key is patience! Use a few extra bobby pins to secure any shorter strands that try to escape. Embrace the messy bun look – a few wisps can add to the charm! You might need to make your buns a little smaller or use more hair ties if you're trying to achieve a low bun with one hair tie effect for each side, but multiple ties help secure layers. Mastering the Face-Framing Pieces: The face framing pieces are crucial for that soft, flattering look, especially for a messy bun hairstyle with bangs. If you have bangs, let them fall naturally. For longer face-framing pieces, you can gently curl them with a curling iron or even just smooth them with styling cream for a polished touch. Don't be afraid to pull out a few extra strands around your temples for an even softer, more casual vibe. Fluffing for Volume (and Disguise!): After braiding, gently pulling apart the sections of your braid – as seen in the tutorial images (Fluff out braid) – truly makes a difference. This creates fullness and makes your hair appear thicker, further hiding any greasiness. Do the same with your low buns by gently tugging at the loops for that perfectly imperfect messy bun look. Product Power-Ups: While the original tutorial mentions styling cream, don't underestimate a light-hold hairspray once you're done. It helps tame frizz and keeps everything in place without making your hair stiff. For extra texture, a texturizing spray can also elevate your braided hairstyle. This style isn't just a cover-up; it's a confident, cute way to extend your hair's freshness and conquer those lazy hairstyles days. Try it next time you're debating whether to wash your hair!
