🌿My DIY Hair Growth Oil Recipe ✨🌿

After taking out my micro braids, I wanted to focus on strengthening my edges, nourishing my scalp, and creating a healthy environment for hair growth. Instead of buying another expensive oil, I made my own infused hair oil with simple, natural ingredients.

🫒 Ingredients:

• Extra Virgin Olive Oil (next batch I’ll be using avocado oil 🥑)

• Fresh Rosemary

• Bay Leaves

• Whole Cloves

• Cinnamon Sticks

🫙 How I Make It:

✨ Add all ingredients to a clean glass jar.

✨ Cover completely with oil.

✨ Seal tightly and store in a cool, dark place.

✨ Shake the jar every couple of days.

✨ Let it infuse for 2–4 weeks before straining.

🌿 Why I Chose These Ingredients:

🌱 Rosemary

• Supports healthy scalp circulation

• Helps strengthen hair follicles

• Encourages healthy hair growth

🍃 Bay Leaves

• Helps soothe the scalp

• Supports stronger hair

• May reduce dryness

🤎 Whole Cloves

• Rich in antioxidants

• Helps keep the scalp healthy

• Supports stronger strands

🪵 Cinnamon Sticks

• Helps stimulate circulation to the scalp

• Adds antioxidant benefits

🫒 Extra Virgin Olive Oil

• Helps lock in moisture

• Softens dry hair

• Rich in vitamin E and antioxidants

💚 Next Batch: I’m switching to avocado oil for an even lighter, nutrient-rich base!

✨ How I Use It:

• Apply to my scalp 1–2 times a week.

• Massage for 5–10 minutes.

• Wear my micro braids loose around my edges.

• Stay consistent with my scalp care routine.

⚠️ A quick note: Natural oils can support a healthy scalp and hair, but results vary from person to person. I always recommend doing a patch test first, and I use this as part of my overall hair care routine—not as a guaranteed cure for hair loss.

Slow progress is still progress. 🌱 Healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp, consistency, and patience. I’ll be sharing monthly updates on my hair growth journey! 💚✨

... Read moreCreating your own infused hair growth oil at home can be both satisfying and beneficial, especially when focusing on natural ingredients such as rosemary, bay leaves, whole cloves, cinnamon sticks, and a nourishing oil base like extra virgin olive or avocado oil. From personal experience, consistency is key; applying the oil 1–2 times weekly and gently massaging your scalp for several minutes greatly enhances circulation, which supports healthy hair follicles and encourages new growth. One great tip I've found is to use avocado oil as a base—it’s lighter than olive oil and packed with vitamins like A, D, and E, plus healthy fats that deeply moisturize without leaving an oily residue. Incorporating bay leaves and whole cloves enriches the mixture with antibacterial and antifungal properties that help soothe dryness and maintain a balanced scalp environment, reducing dandruff and itchiness. Cinnamon sticks boost blood flow to the scalp, stimulating hair follicles further to promote thicker, stronger hair. When making your oil, I recommend infusing it for at least 3–4 weeks in a cool, dark place and shaking the jar every few days. This process extracts the maximum benefit from the herbs and spices, imbuing the oil with powerful natural nutrients and antioxidants. Straining it well ensures no residue remains that might clog pores. Safety first: always perform a patch test before full application, especially if you have sensitive skin. Also, while homemade hair oils support scalp health and hair growth, they work best alongside a holistic hair care routine—including protective styling, gentle cleansing, and avoiding harsh chemicals. Over time, with patience and regular use, you may notice stronger edges, reduced breakage, and a luscious shine that reflects improved scalp vitality. Sharing this journey and observing progress monthly can motivate continued care and deepen your connection to self-care with natural beauty remedies.
