🌙💕 DAY 1 • PM DEVOTION | WHAT DID I BUILD ON TODAY?
Good evening, Bible girlies. 💕📖
This morning we started our journey with Proverbs 30:5 and talked about building our lives on God's truth instead of fear, feelings, circumstances, or other people's opinions.
Tonight, we're checking our foundation. 💗
📖 READ: PROVERBS 30:5–6
“Every word of God is pure…”
💕 WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
God's Word doesn't need us to change it, add to it, or make it fit what we want to hear.
His truth is enough.
And tonight, I want us to think about something:
What did I actually build on today?
Did I build on God's truth?
Or did I build on worry?
Fear?
Something somebody said?
My emotions?
What I saw on social media?
My own assumptions?
🌎 MODERN-DAY EXAMPLE
Maybe something happened today and your first reaction was to overthink it.
Someone didn't respond.
Something didn't go according to plan.
You received unexpected news.
You started worrying about tomorrow.
Before you knew it, you had created an entire story in your mind about something that hadn't even happened.
That's exactly when we return to our foundation:
What do I KNOW—and what am I only afraid might happen?
God's truth gives us somewhere solid to stand when our thoughts start running ahead of us.
✨ LIFE APPLICATION
Before you go to sleep tonight, think back over your day.
Ask yourself:
“Did I respond from God's truth today—or from fear, emotions, pride, assumptions, or outside opinions?”
Don't judge yourself.
Just recognize it.
Then give whatever you're carrying back to God.
👑 TONIGHT'S AFFIRMATION
God's truth is still my foundation.
I release what I cannot control.
I don't have to figure everything out tonight.
I can rest because God is still God.
🙏🏽 EVENING PRAYER
Lord, thank You for carrying me through today. Show me the moments when I trusted my feelings more than Your truth. Help me release the things I'm still trying to understand or control. Quiet my thoughts tonight and remind me that Your Word is trustworthy. I don't need every answer before I rest. Tomorrow is already in Your hands. In Jesus' name, Amen. 💕
🌙 YOUR TURN, BIBLE GIRLIE:
Before you close your Bible tonight, write down:
What am I giving back to God tonight?
Then leave it there. 💗
Rest, Bible girlie. Tomorrow morning we're moving into Day 2: Wisdom Before Decisions. ☀️📖

In my personal experience, learning to intentionally build my daily mindset on God's truth instead of fleeting emotions has been transformative. Many days, it's so easy to let fears or anxieties dictate how I respond to situations—whether it's worry about an uncertain future, reactions to others' words, or the temptation to compare myself on social media. What this devotion beautifully reminds me is the importance of checking what our foundation really is at the end of the day. One effective practice I've adopted is journaling each night, much like suggested here, asking myself: "Did I respond from God’s truth or from fear or assumptions today?" Instead of judging myself harshly, I acknowledge where I drifted and consciously give those burdens back to God through prayer. This simple but honest reflection grounds me and brings peace, knowing I don’t have to figure everything out or carry it all alone. Moreover, the included evening affirmation serves as a powerful reminder: "God's truth is still my foundation. I release what I cannot control. I don’t have to figure everything out tonight. I can rest because God is still God." Repeating this has helped me shift from restless worry to restful trust. I also appreciate the modern-day examples invoked—missed responses, unexpected news, or plans going awry. These common triggers often lead to overthinking stories in our minds that aren’t based on fact. Returning to the question, "What do I KNOW—and what am I only afraid might happen?" provides clarity and peace amidst the noise of daily life. For those looking to deepen this habit, pairing the nightly reflection with scripture readings such as Psalm 139:23-24—"Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my anxious thoughts"—can invite God's guidance and healing where we feel weak or anxious. Honestly inviting God to reveal what isn’t pleasing and to lead us in His ways fosters growth and alignment with His truth. By regularly dedicating time each evening to review our hearts, confess, and release what we carry, we set up a strong, faith-based foundation for the next day. It’s not about perfection but about honesty, surrender, and allowing space for God’s peace and restoration. This devotion is a loving call to trust the enduring power of God’s word over the shifting tides of our fears and feelings.
