🌙 Day 3 PM Devotion — Girl, Read Your Bible
Prayer & Communication With God
📖 Proverbs 3:24–26
“When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid… For the Lord shall be thy confidence.”
💗 Evening Message
Bible girlie, before you close your eyes tonight, talk to God about what you didn’t say out loud today.
Prayer doesn’t have to sound perfect. You don’t need fancy words, and you don’t have to pretend you’re okay when you’re not. God already knows what’s sitting heavily on your heart.
Tell Him about the thing that irritated you.
The decision you’re unsure about.
The person you’re worried about.
The bill you’re thinking about.
The situation you’re waiting to change.
Even the thing you’re afraid to admit bothers you.
Prayer is a conversation, not a performance.
God wants the real you—the grateful you, confused you, tired you, hopeful you, and even the “Lord, I don’t know what to do” you.
🌷 Modern-Day Example
Have you ever gotten into bed physically exhausted, but suddenly your brain decides it’s time to review your entire life? 😩
You start replaying conversations, thinking about tomorrow, imagining situations that haven’t happened, and trying to solve problems at midnight.
That’s your cue:
Stop rehearsing it in your head and start releasing it in prayer.
Instead of:
“What am I going to do?”
Pray:
“God, show me what You want me to do—and until You do, help me rest.”
🌙 Before Bed
Tonight, give God three things:
1. Something you’re thankful for.
“God, thank You for…”
2. Something you’re worried about.
“God, I’m giving You…”
3. Something you need guidance about.
“God, please show me…”
Then leave the conversation with God instead of taking the worry back to bed with you.
✨ Tonight’s Affirmation
I have prayed about it, so I don’t have to keep worrying about it.
God hears me.
God sees what I cannot see.
God knows what tomorrow holds.
My responsibility tonight is to pray, trust, and rest.
🙏🏽 Night Prayer
Father, thank You for being a God I can talk to about everything. Tonight, I bring You the parts of my day that made me smile and the parts that weighed heavily on my heart.
Forgive me for the moments when I tried to figure everything out without first coming to You.
I give You my unanswered questions, my responsibilities, my family, my finances, my relationships, my work, my future, and every concern I’ve been carrying.
Give me wisdom for what requires my attention tomorrow. Give me discernment for what I need to leave alone. And give me peace about the things that are completely outside of my control.
Quiet my thoughts tonight. Let my home be covered in peace, protect the people I love, and allow my body and mind to truly rest.
I have talked to You about it. Now I’m trusting You with it.
In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🤍
🌸 Tonight’s Reminder
PRAY about it. GIVE it to God. And don’t pick it back up before morning.
One of the most powerful ways I’ve found to ease my mind at night is by turning my swirling thoughts into a conversation with God, just like the guide suggests. Often, when I lie down, my brain races with everything from daily frustrations to future uncertainties. Instead of letting these worries steal my rest, I’ve started adopting a simple nighttime ritual inspired by Proverbs 3:24–26: surrendering these heavy thoughts to God. What I love about this practice is how real and unpretentious it is. Prayer doesn’t have to be eloquent — it’s about honestly sharing everything on your heart with God. Whether it’s a small irritation, a tough decision, or deep fears, being authentic in prayer helps me feel less alone and more supported. A helpful trick I’ve learned is to frame my prayers in three parts each night: expressing gratitude first, then naming my worries, and finally asking for guidance. This structure helps me clear my head and focus on the present moment while trusting God to carry my burdens. After praying, I consciously remind myself that I don’t have to keep replaying concerns in my mind. I can let go and rest, knowing God hears and sees beyond what I understand. If your mind races like mine, try this approach and see how it can shift your perspective. Instead of struggling through the night, you might find peace and calm by simply talking to God before sleep, confident that He provides the strength and confidence to face tomorrow. It’s more than just a bedtime routine — it’s a way to nurture your spiritual well-being and build trust in God’s care every night.
